Popolamama Pizza & Pasta — Restaurant in Pagedangan

We had carbonara spaghetti, cheese pizza and doria - Japanese baked rice at Popolamama yesterday.

We went with doria seafood: shrimps, squids, topped with cheese. The baked rice came in with a layer of cheese (not too thick, but we think it's enough) and the rice was not too moist, but it was still flavorful. They were not very generous with the seafood which made me quite sad :D I still like the baked rice overall but I would prefer the baked rice from another restaurant.

The cheese pizza was quite nice but it has a little bit sweet flavor which made it taste a little bit weird for me.

And the carbonara spaghetti was good but not too special.

However I'd still like to come again and try...

Was expecting great Italian food because of the generally high reviews it had. However, there wasn't much to write home about when it finally came. Ordered the Margherita pizza and Carbonara Pasta with Smoked Beef. We got the Lime and Mint Breeze for our drinks. Pizza was mediocre at best. It was slightly dry and we couldn't taste the tomato, which I think comes from the lack of sauce. The pasta flavor was good, but the pasta noodle itself was quite mushy and lacks the springy texture. Five years ago, when I first started dating, I brought her to Popolamama. Ever since, every time we’ve had our special dates, she would always order their cheese pizza. That tradition hasn’t changed. She even chose to celebrate her birthday there with her school friends, making their own pizzas. With our regular visits and cherished memories created there, I half-jokingly think Popolamama should have a special reward for dedicated customers...
