Sawah Terrace — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

Came to Bali for my wedding anniversary and my wife surprised me with a dinner at Sawah Terrace @ Mandapa, a Ritz Carlton reserve.

Our villa's golf cart brought us to Ritz Carlton and my 1st observation, security was tight as the security ensured that we had made a reservation before allowing us to enter.

We were then welcomed by their staff at the drop-off point and he quickly communicated to other staff to arrange for a golf cart to bring us to the Sawah Terrace. While waiting, we were ushered to the lobby where we can enjoy a beautiful overview of the Mandapa.

Shortly after a while, the golf cart came and brought us to Sawah Terrace. We were then welcomed by Ari who brought us to a table which had been reserved for us. It gives us a beautiful view over the river. We were assisted by Febri, the knowledgeable staff member who shared with us on the Mandapa and it's philosophy on sourcing local food and having zero food waste policy.

Febri also shared with us on the local cultures and explained to us clearly on each dish which we are having. Making sure that he always check back with us on the food and if we need anything.

We ordered Sate Ayam, Prawns with curry, eggplants cooked in a coconut, Char grilled Pork ribs, fried eggplants with mushrooms. Do ensure to try the dishes with all the different condiments.

Was my bad experience. As a freelance driver many of our clients want to visit this place for having lunch during the day tour, I am personally not really to recommend to go true. But today because one of my clients really want to visit and finally I drive true to this place, No respect at all, they didn't notice I bring the customer to have lunch to their place, They look at me like I come to this place and disturbing their guests, And one of the guy ask what do you controlling here? hemmm And other one I noticed she is a foreign but not quite sure she working there or I don't know , and tell me, you are smoking you go down not stay here, but actually I went down but there sounds noise of enggine and there is no smoking sign in that place, that way I am stay on the side of the lobby( not in the lobby) I realize no smoking sign nothing in this area, but way she told me to go down then? . better said "sorry no smoking area" . For me no smoking no problem. But the main things is if you're as freelance driver or guide and bring customer to this place just for having meal, will no space for you even for sit down, no one offer "please sit down here while wait your client having...

We had the most wonderful dining experience at Sawah Terrace! From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking view over the rice fields and the serene atmosphere set the perfect tone for a family evening. The ambience is both elegant and relaxing — truly capturing the spirit of Ubud.

The food was simply outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Each dish highlighted authentic flavors with a modern touch, and the service throughout the evening was impeccable. The staff were attentive and genuinely kind, making sure every detail was taken care of. I highly recommend trying the oxtail sauce and the beef rendang — both were absolutely exceptional and packed with rich, authentic flavors.
