Sushi Hiro Bali, nestled in the heart of Kuta within the bustling Beachwalk shopping area, has quickly gained recognition as a prominent dining destination. During our third visit to this new restaurant, we once again experienced the culinary delights that have made it a standout in the local dining scene. While the food at Sushi Hero Bali is undoubtedly impressive, there are a few areas where they could improve to provide an even better dining experience.
The standout feature of Sushi Hiro Bali is undoubtedly its exceptional food. The sushi and sashimi here are expertly crafted, showcasing the freshness and quality of the ingredients. The variety of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi on the menu cater to a wide range of tastes, and each dish is beautifully presented. The flavors are authentic, and it's evident that the chefs take pride in their craft.
However, despite the culinary excellence, there are some areas that require attention. During our visit, we encountered issues related to the availability of certain items. Most notably, basic beverages like mineral water were out of stock, which was surprising for a restaurant of this caliber. Additionally, some fresh sashimi selections, including Hamachi and Ika, were unavailable, which left us disappointed as we were looking forward to trying these delicacies. Furthermore, the wake miso soup, a staple in Japanese cuisine, was also unavailable.
It appears that Sushi Hero Bali may be grappling with challenges in their kitchen and inventory management, especially considering the number of customers that flock to this popular eatery. This leads to occasional disappointments when certain items are unavailable. Given the restaurant's reputation and the expectations it sets with its excellent cuisine, it's crucial for them to address these issues promptly.
Despite these shortcomings, Sushi Hero Bali remains a top choice for sushi enthusiasts. The ambiance is vibrant, and the service is generally attentive. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and can offer recommendations based on your...
Read moreVery overpriced and overrated. The chefs skills were good but we bought the most expensive omakase set (shiro) and everything that came out was just standard sushi you could get at a cheap place. The salmon collar was especially disappointing ( usually used for soups) and a few times I am sure we heard a microwave ding. Unni piece was very small and also the salmon sashimi slice's were small and my partners chutoro tuna slices were inconsistent (one small one normal piece)
The dessert did not come with fruit as stated on the menu. And the miso soup was boiling hot, which it's not supposed to be. Also the wasabi was cheap powder not fresh wasabi root.
Service charge was also more expensive than other restaurants (21% as opposed to the usual 16%). Total bill was 2.3 million idr.
Luckily we are not from Bali so it wasn't too expensive. But for Bali price it's very expensive and I feel let down by the dishes we were given.
As other customers stated service can be slow. We were the only ones there and our meal took just...
Read moreIf you've had high end sake and sushi experiences in Tokyo, you are most likely to appreciate this hidden gem in Bali. We felt joyful to be served high quality sake the same way we were served in Michelin starred restaurants in Japan. We were impressed by the quality of the fish that was flown in from Japan and Australia. The women who ran the restaurant were the epitome of grace, class and skill. It's rare to find a team capable of delivering this high level of quality, service and relentless commitment to excellence. Thank you! (Just to calibrate expectations: IF your education in sushi comes from polishing off sake bombs while guzzling multicolored rolls topped with mayo that you dunk in the soy sauce you've loaded up with your heroic amounts of wasabi, you won't find that...
