Minot Bistro — Restaurant in Bali

This is a bit off the beaten track but easy to find. Get to Ginger Moon, which is right on the corner of the street Minot is on, and walk up that road for a hundred metres or so and it’s on your left. You’ll be glad you did. We’ve been to plenty of French restaurants, all over France, including Paris, as well as in Australia and this was as good as any of them. I had the onion soup (my favourite) and the fillet steak. I’ve had so many lousy (and expensive) steaks that I usually avoid them. This was cooked to perfection (medium) and delicious. For dessert I had the tarte tatin (hope I got that right - apple strudel/turnover anyway). And like everything in Bali, very reasonably priced. Service is as you’d expect: excellent. Very pleasant corner cafe (esquina means 'outside' corner in Spanish) convenient to our hotel.

Extensive range of menu items with beautiful presentation and very tasty and good quality food and drink. Decent coffee too

Nice environment and excellent service

Only downside is that (even in 2023...) they allow smoking 🚬 inside. We had to reluctantly find another restaurant one night as somebody was smoking at a window seat, but the wind was blowing in and there was nowhere smoke-free. Meal went well and had good experience including service. Good bread and croissants. Enjoyed the quiche and even my children enjoyed the meatball pasta. Desert was not as expected. Crème Brûlée sugar coating was thick and makes it too sweet. Generally satisfied and thought place was a gem for a meal. However 4hrs later, my children who shared the meatball spaghetti both felt queasy and bloated feeling. Daughter vomited and both my children start having diarrhea by late afternoon and last for 2 days.
