Holliday Restaurant — Restaurant in Semarang

The food is actually quite good for Semarang standard. It isn't oily so it's quite light for my palate. I usually come here for their Peking duck, tofu, and dim sum. Their Chinese dessert is also quite good.

However, my experience this afternoon (19-12-2023) leaves me speechless. Their hostess is literally rude! Actually, I already "enjoyed" their hostess's rudeness and snotty behaviour several times. But, my past experience involved different ladies. So, I thought today would be different. Apparently, it isn't.

So, they are fully booked for a 6 p.m. event. This hostess did not say anything when she greeted us. She just pointed us to a nearby table. When we were seated, she passed us the menu and only at that moment, she said that we needed to finish our meal before 6 p.m. It just left us 1 hr (including time for cooking). So, my sister and I tried to discuss the worst case scenario with her as we weren't sure we could finish before 6 p.m. (we brought our 3 yrs old niece and please note that we asked for her opinion nicely). However, her reply was condescending and rude. She simply insisted that we had to leave before 6 p.m. & gave a reply which implied that we were the only guests who tried to challenge her & make her life difficult.

Thank you to Bapak Widi (I think he is the captain for this afternoon) who resolved this situation by assuring us that the restaurant would tolerate a 10-15 mins delay on my part, and also the chef would also try to cook as fast as he could, so we could have longer time to eat. I should also thank Pak Widi and his other team members for serving us so friendly and attentively.

Of course, we are so willing to help them by finishing as early as we can. Indeed, we finished at 5.40 p.m. However, it feels different when someone pressures you w/ timer while you eat and rudely insists that you need to leave before 6 p.m no matter what, because you're eating there is one more hassle for her.

Two thumbs down for that hostess! The management should think to send her for more courtesy training. I can never understand why Holliday always chooses a pretty but rude and condescending female staff as...

Kinda hungry for lunch and visiting Holliday Restaurant Semarang. In this visit, I ordered their Sapi Lada Hitam (Wok Fried Black Pepper Beef) and Udang Goreng Mayonaise (Fried Mayo Fresh Prawns). Both menu is totally delicious, totally in love with their Wok Fried Black Pepper Beef, the beef sliced thinly and stir fried with their black pepper sauce, as you can see the portion is pretty generous and taste as delicious (totally recommend this menu for you guys to try while visiting Holliday Restaurant Semarang). Their Udang Goreng Mayonaise also pretty nice the batter isn't too thick which is nice, the prawns also fresh and plumpy. Gonna give extra points for the staff attentiveness. As known for elite restaurant the service are very dissapointing.

I ate here on June 14'23. There were only 3 tables occupied including my family. Many enployees were not busy, but the chief was serving another table when i came.

There were no waiter served us, gave us the menu book, so we had to call them.

The banquet team are more sucks. The tableware are not complete. For example there were missing chinese tea cup, missing soup bowl on some seat.

When i asked for 6 set spoon & fork for 6 person, the waiter just drop all of them at the table without plate or tissue (is this your hygene standard?) and also didn't give 1 set each person. Ps. The waiter was not a trainee since he wore uniform.

Such a bad experience, it feel like i ate at...
