Baik Su Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Surabaya

I have intel about this restaurant. If you are not korean then they will give you little side dishes, not even the steamed egg(gyeranjjim), i heard it was free too, what a difference in treatment. When they are asked where is that particular dish from last time. The staff said it is just exclusive for korean, sucks. I guess you need to bring your korean friend if you have one? Hopefully they are more indonesian friendly. They gave us 5 side dishes, well my friend said there is also white kimchi(is this what you called paocai then?), etc. But i saw none of it when i visited.

Otherwise, it is better than most korean food in surabaya or even quite the best. But for some menu the quality is questionable with this kind of pricing. Like the meat is tough in bibimbap, they use the part with a lot of tendon (not sure if it is or actually is leftover cut, well i think it is leftover cut, because they sell meat for grill too), so it is really tough to chew, really hard, no joke, you don't need anymore texture for bibimbap, because they have other crunchy things inside already. Not recommending this one and jajangmyeon unless they changed the beef part even if the taste is delicious. This is just a disappointment, you can use that tendon to make staff meal or whatever else please.

Stir-fry octopus also a bit tough. Jajangmyeon: taste not sweet, noodle is like udon but chewier. Meat is full of tendon, so tough like i said before. Sundubu overprice for the portion, little clams and thin pieces of zuccini Seafood pajeon is delicious, especially the a bit burnt crunchy part. They put thin slices of chilli also so you don't get bored on eating it Taste wise overall is okay, delicious.

The rice are not ready when we ordered, and they said it will take 15 minutes? before it is ready. But it is an hour wait or ++ i think. They are not ready to serve even though...

Restoran korea ini terletak di kompleks pertokoan Darmo Park 1 Mayjend Sungkono Surabaya barat. Kami mencoba karena mendengar katanya enak. Yang punya orang Korea sepertinya kalau dengar dari logatnya. Kompleks Ruko yang banyak bank nya seberang Ciputra World (bukan deretan CW). Saat masuk kompleks kami tanya lokasi persisnya dimana dan penjaga loket membantu kami (lebih baik tanya). Kompleks ruko agak gelap, namun waktu masuk gangnya Baik Su lumayan terang dan sudah ada mobil berjejer parkir di depan. Dari depan terlihat gate Korea. Sebelumnya kami reservasi (entah kenapa kami lupa a.n siapa dan petugas juga lupa tanya a.n siapa) sehingga waktu kami sampai sempat miskomunikasi dan menunggu untuk dapat tempat. Side dish nya dapat kimchi, salad mayo, terong, kecambah, telur kukus Korea. Sebenarnya kami tidak mau pesan daging, pikir mau pesan ayam goreng saja tapi ternyata tidak ada. Cukup mengagetkan mengingat di film Korea, ayam goreng seperti menu yang paling umum. Sepertinya mereka memang lebih mau menjual dagingnya. Kami pesan haemul (sup seafood), jjajangmyeon (mie kacang hitam), dwaejiyang nyeom galbi (marinated pork ribs), minum nya ocha (free dan free refill). Di buku menu paling banyak menu daging bakar2 nya.

Side dishnya datang duluan, menurut kami lumayan enak dan kimchi tidak terlalu pedas. Sidedish hanya bisa tambah 1 kali, namun pas kami mau tambah lama sekali datangnya, kami harus mengingatkan berkali2 baru datang, datangnya juga tidak lengkap hanya ada kimchi, terong, kecambah tidak seperti awal tadi. Haemul (sup seafood) juga kosong sehingga kami ganti pesan sundubu jjigae (sup merah tofu dengan kerang hijau). Jjajangmyeon datang duluan, mie nya besar seperti udon dan kenyal begitu. Bumbu hitamnya saya suka dibandingkan resto korea lain. Mie nya saya suka yg lebih kecil dan lebih empuk. Kemudian pork ribs nya datang, porsi cukup besar dibanding resto Korea lain. Waiternya membantu membakar dagingnya. Oya tiap orang dapat 3 jenis bumbu cocol, jadi daging yang sudah dibakar kami cocol bumbunya (salah satunya minyak wijen). Dagingnya enak dan empuk, padahal kami bukan pesan daging yang mahalnya mereka. Sundubu datang terakhir, porsinya ternyata kecil. Kami kurang suka karena rasa susunya kuat sekali, mungkin yang suka susu suka, tapi menurut kami agak eneg ya. Padahal mereka bilang favorit. Padahal kami mau makan Haemul nya yang isi seafood, karena kapan hari saya coba haemul resto lain enak, jadi ingin coba di sini tapi kosong. Overall cukup oke makanannya. Namun pelayanan menurut kami kurang bagus padahal resto tidak penuh, pegawai juga kurang ramah (emosian). Perlu ditingkatkan dan ditraining lagi sepertinya. Menurut harganya agak pricey menurut saya. Mungkin kalau mau mencoba bisa...

If looking for a proper korean BBQ in town, this is the place. They use a premium ingredients, marinated in a secret recipe sauce that gives umami flavor. Even though they don't prepare too many side dishes, at least we got the basic one.

Decorated in a classic korean style of restaurant, we were assisted to help us grill and take our order. It is not hard to find a parking lot, and for me this place is suitable for family with young kids.
