Shu Guo Yin Xiang Surabaya — Restaurant in Surabaya

I have very high hopes that this is going to be a wonderful place to have hotpot, knowing this place as review is good, however ended with pure disappointment.

To start off, pork bone and tomato was pick as base soup, both are blend. The pork and beef was flaky and taste frozen for long time. The scallop taste was really bad, not fresh and not edible at all. Informed the staff about my feedback regarding the scallop and asking for replacement of fish dish. To our surprise, we were charged for both fish and scallop at the end of the bill.

Knowing that this is a highly rated restaurant on such reputated hotel, the service was terrible especially when in comes to service recovery. Somehow, they removed the bad scallop from the bill, but the fish was way too overpriced to be replaced with the spoil scallop.

I think the communications and service can go far more than just what we experience. Again, not something that we expect from this place at all. I hope the management can review the service standard and take better action for other guest...

The best hot pot in Surabaya so far. We had pork bone soup. It was thick but also light at the same time. Just the right amount of savouriness. And the best thing is, it's vegetarian friendly. We also ordered mushroom soup for our dad and there was plenty of topping choices for vegetarians. From greens to mushrooms to lotus roots to tofu to bamboo shoot, the list goes on. The soup itself was filled with nutritious Chinese herbs. I could say that it was our dad's best healthy meal (in restaurants) since so long 🤣 and he liked it so much that he ordered more rice! He's picky btw. The price is more on the premium side, but it's worth every penny. It was our very first visit, and we were confused here and there. But the staffs were really helpful and friendly. Oh, and the sauce is free...

This hotpot restaurant truly captures the authentic taste of China! Every time I come here, I feel like I’m enjoying a meal back home. The flavors are spot on, and the ingredients, especially the meat, are always fresh and delicious. The only thing I miss is my favorite dish—pig brain—which, unfortunately, is sold out…. That aside, everything else is fantastic. I also really appreciate the warm and inviting atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff are always polite, attentive, and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
