Kayu Manis Coffee & Steak — Restaurant in Surakarta

We really enjoyed to have had a breakfast here, the old live music did increase our mood as it went alongside theme of Kayu Manis restaurant. They have various food menus from starters, pasta & rice, steak, noodles to local Indonesian food as well as myriad of beverage options. The old-fashioned style favouring back in Dutch era is really showing up in this place, as you can see they own a lot of ancient stuffs and rather cool yet rigid building materials despite having been abandoned for quite long time after art school set their foot off correspondingly. I like how the barrista, who happened to be the server too, represents subtle demeanor toward us when helping to take some 'selfie' photos and taking order, my thanks to thee, Yuda! As to justify the taste and price overally, I would say they have almost everyone's tongue satisfied by any means, however their price might be slightly...

What an unique place to have brunch, lunch, coffee team and dinner.

This place has a plentiful room, indoor and outdoor.

Choices of food also good. Western and local food available.

Coffee shop itself served good variety of beans.

It ethic concept give a homy vibes to the customer.

Need to improve is serving time. Need sometimes after ordering the menu to be served.

You can find on street parking, if resto parking is full, and of course it's legal street parking.

Need to improve also is musholla and ablution place cleanliness. Please provide decent number of sandals and rug to wipe our feet.

Overall, will be back to this resto if...

We ordered Chicken Parmigiana & Soup Iga Kecombrang. Good Service, But…… The Chicken inside chicken parmi is good, but bread and vegetables taste old and funny.

And the Soup Iga was seasoned perfectly, like I have nothing to complaint about the taste.. but at the end of the meal, I found HAIR and suspiciously maybe a BUG inside my soup. 🐜

I’m not sure about the insect, but the hair is very obvious. With this price range, I would expect a better hygiene.

But yeah I would give it a 4 ⭐️ first, and see hopefully I won’t catch upset...
