Keprabon Hotel — Hotel in Surakarta

I've been hotel hopping everytime i visit Solo, to know which hotel is better with the same range of price. And I've got to tell you that this is the worse 😅 well, this is an old hotel. But i believe supposedly they can renovate the room one by one.

Positive values first: • location is great, • the room is spacious with very high ceiling, • you can sit in front of your room if you want to smoke, • they have wifi, • they gave me a welcome drink (tea).

Okay, now the negative stuff. • I stayed at room no 15. They will tell you that it's THE ONLY ROOM ON THE FIRST FLOOR WITH HOT WATER. Be careful, there's a BED BUG there. I changed room at 12.30AM. • I don't mind if i don't have a tv in my room, but since there's a tv in the room, i will state the condition. It's an old tv, with no remote in the first room and in the 2nd room it's broken, only local channels. • AC, it made quite a noise in the beginning, but calm in the end. My advice is, don't turn it off. • You need to mix the hot water & cold water in a bucket. Because the shower is only cold water. And there's another tap for hot water. In my 2nd room, the bathroom's door is already broken & there's no wastafel. • They will give you 2 soap bar & 3 small size of a very old towel. • breakfast is tea & slices of bread with some smear of chocolate. Unfortunately, none of them taste great.

Okay, so you might be thinking that I'm such a whiny person, but let me tell you the reason: They have different prices between internet & direct booking. The cheaper price is online booking but you will only get the 2nd floor. If you come directly, you can choose any floor, but the price is higher. If you're looking for hotel only for sleep or take a rest, this is highly recommended! The room is big, the AC and bathroom work properly, the bed is comfortable. And it's located at the center of Solo so you can go everywhere easily, even you can visit Keraton by walk. Also there are a lot of good places to eat nearby and if you happened to stay at weekend, Ngarsopuro Night Market is only around 500m from the hotel. I booked for "no breakfast" room but they still give you hot tea in the morning and evening. Also you can make a cup of coffee for free at the lobby.||The only complain i have is the window at my room looks "unhealthy", like someone never clean it up for months. Even it has cobweb. Minimal facilities, but the room is spacious. The sink is just for decoration - no faucets. The shower head in my room didn’t work. However, there are hot and cold water taps and a large and small bucket that do the job. “Breakfast” is sweet tea and two slices of white bread dabbed with margarine spread and splashed with chocolate sprinkles. The result is surprisingly delicious, especially when the two toppings melt a little bit. The hotel cook may be on to something here ;) Convenient for guests who want easy access to Solo’s touristic sites. But yeah, not the fanciest hotel ever.
