Worst experience on Gili Air! Let’s start with the positive: the location. Right by the sea, cozy atmosphere, and live music. Unfortunately, that’s where the good part ends.

We ordered Nasi Goreng and Spaghetti Pomodoro, specifically without parmesan. First, we waited one full hour for our food. To bridge the waiting time, we were given some watermelon, which was a nice touch.

But then came the food: the spaghetti arrived with parmesan despite our clear request. We had to return them, and since they had no more pomodoro sauce, we couldn’t get the dish at all. Meanwhile, my Nasi Goreng arrived, but I had to wait another 10 minutes just for cutlery — by then the food was cold. To make it worse, the Nasi Goreng was the most tasteless I’ve had in all of Indonesia. Half of it was left uneaten.

Finally, when the bill came, the spaghetti was still charged. Of course, I refused to pay for it.

I went here to eat fresh fish from the grill. When the fish finally arrived (40 minutes of waiting) it was rubbery, all curled up and already getting cold. The staff told me it was like that because it was “too fresh” but I could not even get some of the fish of the bones. Besides, if fish is fresh it does not look like what I got.

The sides we both ordered came to the table wrong - we both got a baked potato instead of what we ordered: rice and potato wedges. I got to pick a new fish which was good but obviously it came way later, without any sides after I ordered the right ones for the second time. It was such a waste of a fish and my time.

The staff was kind but I’m unsure they understood what was happening. We saw other tables receiving their food at separate times (15+ minutes apart). It must have been an off day / night for...

Don’t go there! I can‘t understand all the positive reviews. We waited 45 minutes for the starter, then another 30 minutes until the main course arrived. After 30 minutes they realised that they have run out of bolognese so we had to change the order. The food was not even tasty: curry with no authentic taste and pizza most probably prefabricated from the fridge. Once we left, the waiters did not seem to realise what happened. Avoid this place.
