Makan-Makan Bar & Grill Senggigi — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

Visited Makan Makan today and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I ordered a burger and clearly asked for no cheese and no sauce — the waiter acknowledged this and even repeated it back to confirm. However, when the food arrived, the burger was full of sauce.

I flagged this immediately, but the waiter seemed reluctant to do anything about it. After insisting, the plate was taken away, but just 5 minutes later, it came back clearly not freshly remade. The same burger had been returned with a half-hearted attempt to scrape off the sauce. Even the same cold chips with sauce still on them were on the plate — nothing had been replaced.

I again asked for a fresh meal, and only after further pushback did they finally agree. When the replacement arrived, the burger was okay but clearly different from the first — it had herbs in the patty the original didn’t, which shows a lack of consistency. The portion of chips was smaller and obviously reheated, likely because the previously sauced ones were just taken away.

While the taste of the burger was decent, the overall experience was let down by poor service, a lack of care in food handling, and an unwillingness to take responsibility for mistakes. Definitely...

We had to send the burger back 3 times as we requested no mayo once brought back to us we found that it was the same burger we had returned with them attempting to scrape off the mayo forgetting that the bun was still covered on top of this they decided to just remove all the chips with mayo on leaving us with a quarter portion of chips we returned back again to which the server tried telling us that was not the case it was then brought back to the kitchen and burger was remade but they had not changed the chips instead opting to just reheat the old chips made almost 30 minutes before we decided to cut our loses and not bother asking to change the chips as that had already been mentioned to no effect. The salad seemed as if it was defrosted with water filling the bottom of the bowl. The tenderloin was good however baby potatoes were served cold same as the vegetables. I do not recommend this place as there are many better places to dine nearby with far better food and service. We will not be coming back. Food may of been cheap but the bad...

We were seated and our order was taken, then we waited... and waited.. and waited.. no drinks, no food, my wife said she vould see what looked like our drinks sitting on the counter, we finnaly got the atention of a waiter and asked where our drinks were, he went to check and yes it was our drinks that had been sitting there for ages, we Asked for Mocktail and pointed to Mocktail and also said no alchol, no alcohol, these had alcohol in them, then we waited for food...... that took longer again untill my wife noticed another table who was seated atleast 20 minutes after us was being served their food, I said to my wife, " this is a joke, let's pay for drinks and go" when the waitress arrived with our food and an apology.. but no cutlery.. my beef rendang was ok, my wife's lamb ribs wasn't.. we were planing on having desert but at that stage we gave up and left.. this is when we found out the mocktails had alcohol because they tried to charge us for cocktails.....
