Cork City has many excellent restaurants but unfortunately many of them do not open until 5PM or 6PM and that does not suit me. Most do not open on Mondays and others are closed on Tuesdays (maybe Monday and Tuesdays). The selection of Chinese restaurants in the city centre is somewhat limited so by default I usually have lunch at Yuan Ming Yuan as I really like (especially the staff). "By default" does not mean that the restaurant is not good ... in fact it is excellent.

Some on reviews mentioned that only the set menu was available at lunch time but I did not find this to be the case as I was offered the Dim Sum and à la carte menus as well as the lunch menu. The Dim Sum was really good but I ordered much more than I could eat.

I really like the interior of this restaurant and I have made a number of attempts to photograph it but I have always been disappointed by the results. The interior is very dark but there are one or two really strong lights that overpower the sensors ... I tried underexposing but the resulting noise is...

Authentic Chinese food prepared and served in a beautifully appointed decor provides for a relaxed dining experience. The aromas of the cooking fill the senses. The friendly staff was helpful and efficient. Our party of four was extremely pleased with our choices. The dim sum pork steamed dumplings were very tasty. The Spring Rolls were light and crispy. The Chicken Satay was so tender and well sauced, absolutely delicious. The Chicken Chow Mein, The House Fried Rice, The Chicken Fried Rice were all perfectly prepared with fresh tasty ingredients, served piping hot and had just the right amount of spiciness. The Soup Special of the Day was delightful, tiny cubes of white chicken breast meat, mouthwatering broth and egg drop made this steaming hot soup very pleasing. Portion sizes were ample and prices very reasonable for the outstanding quality of the food. A...

Myself and my daughter went for a meal on valentines day time was roughly 5 o clock, the place was relatively empty, when we went in the host said we must leave at 6.30, never in my life eating out was I told I had to leave at a certain time, we said ok because we wanted to try the food, I thought it might be for valentines day the restaurant might be busy with bookings but people were walking in and being seated no booking and nothing said to them that they had to be out at a certain time, I asked the host when we were leaving why we had to be out at 6.30 and I don't think he understood what I was saying to him, overall a very uncomfortable evening AND the food wasn't great I don't know why this place is getting rave reviews the food was horrible the staff and wanted us out in an hour, don't waste your money on this chinese there's plenty of nicer...

Visited on Sunday evening. The food was really good. The service was really good. I was a bit taken a back though when I was leaving, after already paying at the counter when i was exiting the waitress said " have ye paid? " . Found that to be a little bit Insensitive having already paid the bill 👀 As a manager in a customer service facing role I certainly would not be nor be recommending my staff to deem that to be an appropriate way to approach a customer . Did I need to have the receipt in full view of the waitress when I was leaving only because she didn't see me pay ? Please look into this for yourselves going forward. As I said food was lovely though outside of that and the other staff were great thoroughout our time there. Would of been 5 star only for the end of the experience

Nice Chinese restaurant on Princess street,. First impressions are, it does not look great on the outside and you could easily walk passed it without really noticing, however inside the decor is very nice oriental style. The staff are very friendly and efficient. The menu is comprehensive and the prices are fair. The service was quick and the food presentation was excellent. The food to eat was good, my peking ribs starter was very good, however my seafood stir fry was a little bland. The wine menu was limited. While my banana fritter was very nice, the dessert menu could be better. Overall cleanliness was good, however the toilets while clean, were very basic and small. Overall experience was good and the value was good, I would go again.
