We were with family yesterday at TradeHouse. We wanted to have a good time.
There were problems with the service from the moment of coming to the restaurant.
When we placed the order, the waitress did not give us a chance to order a drinks. we had to call another waiter to finish the order.
We had a really simple order. One starter, 3 main courses , 2 children's courses , drinks and desserts.
After eating the main course no one was interested in us for 40 minutes. the staff preferred to stand and talk rather than take care of the guests.
When we came to the bar to ask someone to clean our table after some time the waitress came. At that time we ordered desserts. We waited 30 minutes again. we had to contact the waitress ourselves again because no one was interested in us, it turned out that our order had not been placed.
We were tired of just waiting and gave up dessert.
The waitress taking our order for desserts from the beginning of our visit was very rude. We felt uncomfortable.
The standards for cleaning tables outside are also not the best. After the guest had left, the waitress collected the dishes, rubbed the table with her hand and left. I think it's not very professional at the time of Covid.
We wanted to celebrate the 10th anniversary with our family and unfortunately we will not remember it well. I am very disappointed . We feel very badly treated and the children are very dissatisfied.
I worked in a restaurant myself and I cannot imagine treating a client like this. I was a frequent visitor to the tradehouse but after today I don't know if I will come...
Read moreSo disappointed with everything in this place. My friend lives in ballincollig and suggested we meet at Tradehouse. We decided to treat her. The starters were great. I have to admit I had to search for the avocado on my fish cakes starter. My husband had the tacos and said they were very good. Our friend has the prawn cocktail and liked it. Then we waited quite a long while for the main course, but we were glad when everything arrived. Glad until we tasted it. Two of us ordered the Hake. The smell, texture and the look of it was just all wrong. I could taste what I believe petrol must taste like! The texture was tough, dry, rubbery and nothing like the usual meaty, flaky Hake that we usually get anywhere else. The accompaniments did not do fish any favours. We were treating our friend and didn't want to make a fuss. She was already apologizing for choosing this place for dinner. So we paid and sent back very full plates. Nobody questioned the full plates. This establishment is extremely busy with revellers on a Saturday night. There were several birthday parties in that night. The staff were all young, pleasant, happy teenagers. No experienced staff, no senior manager or anyone likely to know about hospitality. We were bitterly disappointed with the meal. We will...
Read moreWell decorated dining in the middle of beautiful Ballincollig town. Pleasant and soothing ambience. Efficient customer service. Friendly staff. Consistently great food. They use local ingredients and the menu is tailored for everyone. Have high chairs close to bar counter. It is a fine restaurant for dine alone or to have a party with friends. They have live music too but the time varies. The food is so delicious and not too expensive. The soup of the day is really worth trying for... It was so yummy😋. I had bruleed miso pork belly, which was really tasty but I would suggest them to use a white plate which would make the dish look more appealing. There is a vegan menu too. Parking space is limited but plenty of public parking space available around so it won't be an issue. If you want a fine dining place to enjoy food with family or friends in Ballincollig, this is the place I would say. Covid 19 guidelines are strictly followed. Be ready with your covid cert on arrival. Try to book the seats in advance especially for weekends but they have a large number of seats and getting in won't be a huge...
