Tried out this new tex mex restaurant in Douglas. Food was lovely. All the portions seemed to be very big. Even the kids tacos and burritos are the same size. The only difference is that they have a set thing in them but you pick the protein. My 2 girls loved them. Very reasonable too at 6.95. Got tortilla chips and a nice mango lime fresh cordial type drink with it. I got the street tacos with barbacoa. Which I enjoyed. Will probably try a burrito or a bowl. The bowls looked huge. The owner was also very nice and accommodating. Even offered to switch the kids tacos for a burrito when they inevitably changed their mind. The place itself is lovely with nice and cosy and comfy booths and nice decor. Definitely recommend if you like TeX mex. A great addition to Douglas. Easy to drive in from carrigaline

I really like Mexican food so was really looking forward to trying Zócalo. No major complaints just a few small tweaks and this place could be brilliant. We got Chicken tacos, Nacho's Grande, and Fish tacos. Grilled Chicken was really nice, fresh, and generous serving in each of the 3 tacos. Fish tacos had just the one piece of fish in each and was mostly salad filling. Nachos were ok, not heated and cheese was like stuff from a bottle. Giving them some slack as it's the first week open and was very busy too. Plus the staff acknowledged and apologised for any delays. Overall happy with the food and service, will definitely be back to try the burritos and quesadillas.

Constructive Feedback Ordered Veggie Burrito, Chicken Burrito Bowl & Nachos + 2xCoke (€37) Chicken Burrito Bowl: Tasty but was borderline cold. Chicken was almost non existent, very rice/lettuce heavy. Veggie Burrito: Had no rice?? Burrito badly wrapped, everything fell out. Didn’t add Guacamole as requested/paid extra for. Nachos: Very strange that they were refrigerated, no heat whatsoever, taken straight from fridge. If these simple issues are addressed, this place will thrive as the food is tasty. €37 for a cold meal was very disappointing .

Well dinner tonight here was awful. We had Nachos, Fish Tacos and a Chicken Burrito. The price was reasonable no complaints there. Nachos arrived with a small portion of Guacamole. Nothing special, the Burrito, when unwrapped, revealed a sloppy mess. It tasted fine. The fish tacos were inedible as the fish was rotten. Totally unacceptable to serve this to someone. The smell was pungent. I asked if the fish was fresh and was told yes. I cannot agree and the staff member seemed to find it amusing. I asked for a refund and was charged a second time!!! I eventually had a refund for my meal only. The only reason I gave it one star is because it is not possible to...
