Very good little spot we stopped at for dinner after some car trouble delayed us from getting back to limerick. The atmosphere was very Irish pub like and perfect for tourist looking for that. The food was mostly good and plenty of whiskeys behind the bar.
Four of us had the the bisque like seafood chowder that was rich and cream. I loved the presentation with the pubs on version of soda bread and whatever random roll made your plate. The chowder (truly more of a bisque) was really very good.
The chicken vol au vent was quite delicious. I was actually a bit jealous of my friend who ordered it (three of them). As was the spring rolls which were warm and definitely not like any spring roll back in the states. However, the chili sauce served with was great and these (more like an egg roll) are fantastic. My friend and I shared the seafood platter. The cooked salmon was honestly bland and underwhelming. Neither of us finished our portion. The smoked salmon was great though. The crab claws fine but not special. However, the salmon and crab “pâté” was exception. We both agreed we could have happily had a whole bowl of that. I put pâté in quotes as it was more like a salad than a pâté imo.
The desserts were plentiful. We opted for the strawberry ice cream and poached pear (yum!!!), the coconut panacotta which was absolutely delicious, and the apple fudge cake (meh).
The cocktail menu was nothing to write home about so don’t come here for that. Come here instead for the pub food, beer, and whiskey.
Overall it was a nice experience and a great spot for...

You can definitely share them!), amazing atmosphere and live music. The only complaint I have is that there isn't any room while you are waiting for your table, other than near the entrance, which can be a bit of a pain. The bar was full, but, luckily opened up quickly enough for us to snag some seats while we waited. For two entrees and four drinks, it was just under €60, which is a little over $60 USD at the time of our visit. But,...
Read moreThis is one of the more vibrant places to eat in Ennis (especially during the weekend) , its seems chaotic and busy but its actually a very well ran restaurant / Pub .. its efficient and fast. The chicken and ham vol-au-vant is the classic, but the rest of the menu will give everyone something to find, Curry , Burger, fish its all there. One thing, you cannot book in advance, turn up and wait enjoy the scenery and atmosphere get a drink and wait for a bit.. ( big groups might be a struggle 6+ just to note but you might be lucky) rush hour is around 6 - 7 .. its gets...
