After reading about how these guys were voted best fish and chips shop in all of Munster I had to try them out for myself. I must say, I was well impressed and it's obvious to see why they won the title. We tried a bit of everything on the menu as it all looked amazing and it was hard to choose. We got the award winning cod and chips, battered prawns, battered sausages, and a 6oz Hereford steak burger. The cod and chips definitely lived up to their title. Crispy batter, flakey, moist, perfectly cooked cod served with a tasty tartar sauce and mushy peas that not only works as a side but were lovely as an alternative to ketchup to dip the chips in. There were ample chips served with everything and they were very crispy as well which is something many places which do hand cut chips just don't get right. The prawns were massive, properly prepared, deveined and also coated in the same crispy batter. The battered sausage was also lovely, served in the same batter, but the item which really stood out we were not expecting was the burger. Personally, when I see a steak burger on the menu I order it with no toppings as I like to taste a perfectly cooked steak burger and savor the meat and seasonings directly so I order them plain. This steak burger was very tasty and did not require anything further to make it brilliant. Served on a soft brioche bun I loved it on its own but next time I may be a bit more adventurous but I hate the thought of putting a sauce or even cheese on a burger that is already so delicious all by itself. If you are in Ennis and looking for proper fish and chips or a lovely burger for takeaway, then definitely go to Ryan's.

Had heard all about Ryan's chippers in Ennis. Was infamous with Instagram food bloggers. Heard it was in Galway city as a food truck had to make it my business to give it a shot. It definitely did not disappoint. Chips were Devine crispy on the outside and real fluffy inside. The fish was amazing. White chunky and flaky...batter was light and crispy fill of flavour and not too heavy. Curry sauce is a must try. The owner was an absolute gent offering us extra chips if we wanted them. And huge portions of fish. Will definitely be back again for more. We were one of the last customers and the truck had sold out of everything. The owner told me they're in Galway every weekend at the tiny traders market.

So after hearing all the amazing review I had to take a trip from mayo to ryans .. I must say I definitely wasn't disappointed. From the service to the food it was outstanding. Ryans fish and chips was super busy and we were told 1hr wait. Even though it was so busy the staff as so calm and friendly. With only 2 staff members on tonite it was a much longer wait, but your food was all freshly made , we got 2 combo fresh meals . The batter was so light with beautiful flavours. The fish was just cooked to perfection. So guys if your thinking of visiting ryans , the wait is well worth it. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

3rd strike! This time, 23 chips for 99c extra. Order was wrong again. Ordering process is brutal. You have to stare down staff to make sure you food is found when ready and handed over. 25 mins for 2 burgers and chips. Back to Enzos for stress free eats. You've been warned, or you might be lucky (Upgraded to 2 stars as food nice, portion still disappoints).

Responding to Dans reply: Same attitude in your reply. We have the root cause it seems. Take the criticism and build upon it. As a former customer, chasing your staff to get the correct order each time is not right. Having staff forgot your order is not right. Spend less time on sarky online responses and more time improving your service to match your pricing. My review is both accurate and recent. Your attitude aligns as expected. Try focus that energy on self-improvement, its...

If you want a 15 minute wait for 2 bags of chips and a customer asking an employee what you ordered and getting served before you when you ordered 5 minutes before them and still having to wait 10 more minutes, this is the place for you. Weirdest experience I have ever had in a takeaway.

Edit: โ€˜ะั–, Thanks for your review. We cook all food to order, we only use fresh produce, we use homemade chips that we hand-cut in shop each morning, and we don't pre cook them. If you find having your food cooked fresh in front of you a very weird experience we'd recommend you definitely don't order our delicious fresh fish as it's battered and cooked fresh for each order. Thanks for calling, Danโ€™
