O'Donnells Bar & Restaurant Donegal — Restaurant in County Donegal

I don’t usually post negative reviews, but the large number of positive reviews for this hotel encourages me to set the record straight and tell you about my experience. I would definitely not stay at this location again, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone else. Among the most concerning aspects of our room, were these: uncomfortable beds, room not very clean, dirty carpet, no top sheets and for one bed a comforter that looked to be unwashed, a broken mirror in the bathroom, a shower that was either too cold or too hot, poor ventilation in the room that made it necessary to open the window at night which amplified the very noisy street right outside, a lack of table or chair to place a suitcase or bag on top of and parking that we had to pay for when it was supposed to be free. As mentioned in other reviews, a pot for heating water was plugged in and set on the floor. Pretty terrible all around …. I’m 5foot 5 and I was longer than the bed. The rooms are bare and uninviting.. One bathroom per FIVE rooms. Up to 10 people. We were Told we would “have a bathroom” with our room.. I actually got locked IN the bathroom today when the lock came of in my hands. The walls are thin and you can here everyone in all the other rooms all around you ..No privacy AT ALL We were Told parking was included only To find out when we left for a day trip that we have to pay 2 dollars every time we leave.. No clean towels..you have to use the same one over and over.there NO housekeeping at all… I feel like we were severely mislead by owner while making the reservation. The town itself it’s Pretty great..lots Of historical castles and Abby’s to see! Just stay anywhere else but here! There’s plenty of other places to stay.. I would recommend...

Location was central and ideal. Room was very spacious and comfortable, looking out onto the town's square. Unfortunately we still had used towels in the bathroom from the previous visitors that weren't removed. Even if we had a clean set, it was a drawback making us doubt the cleanliness of the rest of the room. Parking available, although not free as advertised (Є2). Before figuring out the Є2 was required, no one was at the facility to advise; neither contact numbers provided were available despite multiple attempts; a small detail as such not provided on check-in or visible on security boom at parking-exit.||Also note that the location on Booking.com takes you to 'Diamond Lodgings', not O'Donnell's Of Donegal, which is instead located on top of O'Donnells Bar &...
