Horrible customer service

Ordered a hot chocolate and cake and the total bill was 8.60. I was served by Elaine who was extremely rude I ordered a lemon drizzle cake and was made as if I don't know what I am talking about. I then ordered a hot chocolate I was asked if I wanted cream which comes with it but had to pay extra for then was asked for If I wanted cream with cake and I said yes then paid she forgot half my order and I had to pay two separate bills and when I confirmed the price I wasn't told anything except I will give you your reciept. After looking at my reciept I was over charged for cream and wasn't made aware that it cost more for adding it to the hot chocolate and cake .Extremely arrogant and would not even take two seconds to explain especially when it was extremely quiet.When I received my hot chocolate it was a small instead of a medium. Very young staff and not very friendly!! We visited this Costa before and after Christmas and each time the tables were not cleared. We had to tidy up our table onto a tray and leave it on another table. There were 4 staff behind the counter and no queue yet nobody took the time out to clear and wipe down the tables? With Covid still rampant at present we thought a big Company like Costa would make sure that they are doing their bit by cleaning and sanitising their tables on a regular basis. Next time we will try Starbucks to see how they manage...

Best avoided unless you have time on your hands ! The food and coffee offering is fine BUT the service is laborious and tortuous. SLOW is the big comment . As the centre is quite busy at times, this has many hideaways, behind the service area where you can grab a paper etc and chill in relative...
