Popped into Mad Egg Dundrum for the first time with my uncle and genuinely had a cracking lunch. The whole vibe was super chill – we grabbed a seat out on the terrace, soaked up the sunshine, and had a proper good catch-up. It’s got that laid-back, buzzy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
Special shout-out to the Brazilian guy serving – absolutely lovely fella, friendly, chatty and made the experience even better. Service was quick, upbeat, and welcoming from start to finish.
I went for The Heartbreaker (€14.50) – dripping with cheese, spicy jalapeño hot sauce, pickles, and absolute flavour. Every bite was messy in the best way and just hit the spot. Washed it down with a sparkling water, which kept it fresh.
My uncle went for the Nashville Hot Tenders (€10.95) – fiery, crispy, with that bold Southern-style heat. Served with comeback sauce and sriracha slaw, and he was all smiles with a Coke in hand.
Honestly, I’ll definitely be back great food, relaxed atmosphere, and fantastic service. Whether you’re a fried chicken fanatic or just looking for a great spot to unwind and eat well, Mad Egg...
Read moreStopped in here as i had heard good things about this place and a friend also suggested it. I was up in Dublin for something so checked it out. The restaurant is nice and staff attentive. Nice ambiance in there.
I got the GOAT burger which has parmesan cheese, garlic mayo, pickles, lettuce and candied bacon. The flavour of the burger was really tasty. Could really get a nice flavour fun the parmesan and the garlic mayo. The chicken was a full large breast. The batter on it was a little disappointing though. It was over cooked so the it was ridiculously crispy and not in a good way. It just all cracked off the breast due to that. It didn't have as much flavour then either. As mentioned previously that flavour came from the other ingredients. I dunno if that's how it is usually cooked or i just got a bad One. This fell short. The other similar sized and priced chicken burger i have to compare it too is Dirty Bird from the Lodge in Myrtleville, Cork. There they get the balance right between crispy and soft.
The bathroom also stranglely had a very dim...
Read moreReally is a shame about mad egg. Pre COVID it was the talk of the town. Wow has it gone downhill. Went here a few weeks back. We were told at the door there would be up to a 45 minute wait as they had to clear down tables. No problem. Gave our mobile number and left. 50 minutes later no text was received so we walked down and they gave us a table.
The restaurant was dirty. Left a big roll of kitchen roll sat on our table for the whole time we were there. When the food arrived we had taken one bite before the bill was placed on our table. We had just started eating. Then the staff started cleaning the restaurant around us and one staff member was counting the cash on the table next to us. Could not have felt more unwelcome and rushed to finish our food. Why not tell us the restaurant would be closing soon instead of making us wait 50 minutes for a table and then start closing the shop just as we started eating? Terrible service....
