Went to Fired Up Goatstown last night with a group of 8 for dinner and was utterly disappointed with the service. All 8 of us ordered our food at 18:55 with 6 of the of the group receiving food after 30 minutes. Myself and one of the others waited over an hour and a half for our food. After 30 minutes of waiting, I went up to the staff to ask about the delay and was told the food would be another 30 mins, with their excuse being ‘we have just received a large takeaway order’ even though our food was ordered before that order. No apology was given. After I waited the additional 30 mins I was then told the food would be another 30 mins. This was ridiculous given that everyone else in the group had now received and eaten their food an hour ago. The staff were incredibly rude, and made me feel like a huge inconvenience. The only member of staff who apologised was the person who took our order in the first place (after we waited the first 30 minutes), not one other member of staff apologised after that. An hour and a half after ordering we got our dinner. We were then given our drinks, that were warm, so we had to ask for drinks from the fridge. These were reluctantly given to us by the staff. They forgot our side of chicken tenders that we had ordered, so we let them know. We then watched one of the members of staff take a portion of chicken tenders from a packed order of a completely different order not even related to our group and gave them to us. All in all it was an incredibly disappointing evening in Fired Up, the staff were incredibly rude, we were barely given an apology and no compensation was offered for this totally...
Read moreI am obsessed with good pizza. I have spent months/years trying to perfect my own doughs, my own sauces. Cold and long fermentation doughs, shorter room temp doughs. I grow my own fresh oregano so I can cook it down into my sauces along with basil, chilli flakes marjoram…
I’ve paid insane money to import skimmed low moisture mozz (because you can only get full fat for the life of me here) for when I want to replicate a fast food pizza. Anyway long story short. I know great pizza and this is right now, the best in Dublin. Yes it’s better than Pi - they actually don’t skimp on the toppings and the dough is less chewy Yes it’s better than Dublin pizza company - it’s not a soggy mess within seconds Yes it’s better than tiger - it’s handcrafted, not mass produced Yes it’s better than Unos - (I can’t believe she said unos!) unos is fantastic but you can expect 33% of your pizza to a crust. They also lack versatility in their options.
Buy this!! Ps I don’t work here I am just crazily...
Read moreGreat idea - not well run. Lovely pizza and great to have draught beer. Great setting and potentially loads of space. Unfortunately it's not organised at all and it's a bit of a mess. We were there Friday night where it was just overrun. Staff couldn't cope. There's no ordering system for food so we were waiting over an hour (we were told 40 mins) and you have to stand and wait for your name to be called as there's no numbering system. When we arrived, we were served drinks even though the tables were full. Half way through the first pint, we were told to sit at a table. When we asked how, the member of staff just shrugged his shoulders. Most of the time we were there, there was a long queue for tables. As groups clung onto their tables for the night, the result was more and more people gathering in a small space, despite the extent of the Goat's car park. It would be a shame to see such a good spot be shut down because of...
