My parents went there for lunch, and my Dad ended up leaving in an ambulance....... There was clearly an issue with what he was served, and it led to a severe first time reaction (he has never had this happen before).
When he wrote to complain, all he was looking for was an apology, and even if they didn't fully accept it was their food which landed him in an ambulance, as a token of their goodwill or whatever to be at least offered a meal to make amends. He never had any intention of trying to bring them to court, as they suggested would be his best step forward (puzzled look on my face as I write this...!)
What he got instead was incomprehensible tripe by the 'Head of quality and safety', where they effectively suggested that he get conclusive labratory proof that it was their food that caused his reaction. I wrote to them myself to point out how these cases are treated in hospitals, and what they're asking is highly unreasonable.
Simply put, he was taken in to St. Vincents, assessed, bloods taken to rule out anything else, and discharged when it was established that he had just got very sick from a bad lunch and had a bad reaction. No vomiting bug symptoms, just a very straightforward case of reacting badly to whatever was in the lunch. There was no further investigation from the hospital, as its quite hard and would be an unusual move for them to drive to Dundrum, and scoop up vomit from the street the next day, so that it can be assessed...!
I wrote to Milanos: ''Should he have taken that sample of his lunch and undertaken to have it microscopically examined at a medical research facility?
Should he be undertaking to liase with the treating physician in Vincents hospital to research and study his case of food poisoning so he can establish 'conclusive medical evidence'? ''
What I got was a nonsensical response, that seemed like it was written by Chat GPT, with the preprogrammed conditions - 'reply to the customer in a cold, overly complicted, and robotic fashion'.
We both had our time wasted, and came up against a brick wall with their Head of Quality & Safety', who needs to seriously rethink his position, as he's possibly the most unsuitable person I could imagine for this position.
I would sincerely recommend anyone else in the offices there to have a look through my email exchange and tell me with a straight face that their response wasn't ridiculous.
(On a positive note, the staff in Dundrum itself were lovely apparently, and up until he ended up getting sick and passing out on the footpath outside, he was having quite...
Read moreI brought my Son for his Birthday on Sunday last along with his Girlfriend and Brother. I happened to mention when we were leaving that I had just buried my precious Father 2 days previously and I really enjoyed the meal as I hadn't been out in over a year as I was helping to care for my Dad who had Dementia after my Mum died unexpectedly just a year ago and that Dad couldn't go on without Mum so essentially died from a broken heart. The Waiter Hugh couldn't have been nicer and was extremely friendly throughout our time there and couldn't do enough for us. Hugh sympathised with us and then had to get the Manager as we were having problems with our Tesco tokens and the Manager Alex was also really lovely and so so friendly. Alex also sympathised with us and spoke lovingly about his own Grandparents who also died within a short time of each other due to a broken heart. Apart from that the service was top notch and the food was amazing and there was no waiting around so we got our food very quickly. We eventually sorted the bill with Tesco Vouchers etc and I had left the Restaurant and I heard a voice calling me and I looked around and it was Alex the Manager telling me that the bill was on the house that they weren't using my Tesco vouchers that I could use them again. To be honest I was so shocked that someone could be so kind and generous to me totally unexpectedly. I thanked Alex so much and gave him a hug and I thought people go on about the Youth of today etc but I certainly have not enough positive things to say about this young Man Alex and the lovely friendly Waiter Hugh. Even though my heart may be broken right now an act like that from this young man Alex really made me think about the good people in our World and I also thought that this is something my Wonderful Dad would have done so Dad must be working on me already! Alex thanks a million for what you did for me as you have just no idea what it really meant to me and thank you Hugh too. Please God I will see you both soon. Looking forward to the lovely food again not to mention the lovely friendly service with...
Read moreWe tried to come in yesterday evening for dinner around 6:45/ 7pm and honestly I have never seen such rudeness from staff in my life. No one greeted us at the door we stood for about 5/10 minutes with 2 servers, a woman and man who literally just kept storming past us not acknowledging us, faces like thunder., wouldn't make eye contact. I understand if someone is busy but they didn't even say hello or greet us. No smiles, nothing. Place was also not busy at all which was the best part, about 4 or 5 tables outside max and no one inside. Finally a man came over to us and we asked if we could sit outside as it was very hot and there were a lot of empty (dirty) tables, he said ok but needed a few mins to clear it, we said no problem and he proceeded to go around doing other bits which included getting cutlery for a family outside who had already walked in and got their own cutlery, guessing they were waiting too long. Meanwhile the man working out on the terrace continued to ignore us and stand around doing nothing and storming past us not making eye contact. I used to be a server, it takes about 20 seconds to clear a table off rather than leaving customers standing feeling so awkward and unwelcome. We just left in the end I was too mad to stay and be treated so badly, we went next door to the Italian and had a lovely meal. I honestly don't ever write reviews and I am a huge fan of Milanos, we normally go to Blanchardstown which is always excellent service, but the way we were treated was just disgraceful. Those 2 servers working yesterday 29th June at about 7pm out on the outside tables ought to be ashamed the way they behaved. Your supposed to greet customers with a smile and say hello, it's common sense, regardless if your busy just acknowledge people waiting at the door when you have a sign saying "Please wait to be seated". Wouldn't recommend this place at all unless you like being treated like your not...
