I'll preface this by saying my oat flat latte was divine, their roast is silky smooth. The brunch however left a lot to be desired. I had the avocado on toast and it was pitiful. Half an avocado on a bagel with hummus for €13 is outrageous. There were very few options for vegans in general too might I add.The feta and barley salad was a measly portion size too, it was basically just greens, the added accoutrements outlined on the menu were few and far between. Also the service was lacking, we had to grab our own menus after having been at our table for over 5 minutes without being greeted. I wouldn't mind if they were busy but there were only 2 other tables occupied at the time. We also had to hunt down salt and pepper as we were left to our own devices for the entirety of our meal. Considering all this, we felt it was pretty ridiculous that our waitress dared to ask if we'd like to tip upon paying.

5 of us went for Brunch on a Saturday. Between us we had Chorizo Eggs, Pancake & Beans on Toast. All the food was hot & tasty, and the coffees & teas too. The wait to have our order taken was quite short, as was the time to receive our drinks and food. We all enjoyed our Main courses and we also had desserts afterwards. All were delicious and filling. The only complaint was that the chorizo eggs didn't have enough chorizo, and that the guacamole & feta cheese, on this dish, was cold as opposed to room temperature. This slightly spoiled the taste, but not enough to stop me having it again. Service was efficient, friendly and prompt. There was a really good atmosphere in the cafe and the music was also good. We will return.

5 points why Five Points deserves a sterling review - 1. Coffee was perfect, obviously. 2. Staff were so friendly that they put us in a good mood, especially the guy in the orange beanie behind the espresso machine. 3. THEY DO TAKEAWAY BRUNCH! 4. We got to shazam a new artist we hadn't heard before from their playlist while waiting for said brunch (sir Was, where have you been all our lives) 5. The brunch was probably the nicest we've had in Dublin. SO delish and presentation not hindered by being a takeaway. Have never enjoyed eating brunch in a car so much (have never eaten brunch in a car before either but here we are.) Thanks for the lovely boost while we wade through lockdown #3. You guys are doing great things.

Edit: A year after my first review I see things didn't change. New employees but the same attitude of being more focused in socialising between one another and laughing loudly, than serving. We had finished our meal and the dishes were there, being annoying at the table when we wanted to use it for something else. A server would come and go close to us, but was avoiding eye contact and never asked to take the dirty plates. A different server came after a while and took them without us having to ask. There was a third server, the one that took our orders and brought the food, but he never came even near us after serving the food. Also, in this place you are asked if you want a coffee as soon as you sit. For lunch we prefer the coffee after the meal, but since no server approached us for a long time after we finished eating, we gave up. By the time the only good server approached us we were annoyed and didn't want to give this place more of our money. I think we're not considering this place anymore for Sunday lunch, since apparently the staff can't be arsed to work on that day...

Original review: I have been to this café several times, I like this place, the food is a bit pricey and I wish they had more vegetarian options, but the flavours are great. The service is normally good, sometimes even great. Today, though, the waitress we had at first was more focused on socialising with her coworkers than on taking our order, or the one beside us. Later on, she and other staff members apparently were taking a break sitting at a table, they were very loud, talking and laughing in an obnoxious manner. Not really the type of atmosphere you would prefer in a café. When we paid, again another member of staff seemed more interested in socialising with coworkers than to greet us good bye. It left a weird taste, not very customer oriented...
