A former quary and training ground for the volunteers in 1916. Home to Lourdes celtic, an athletics club and a venadrom.

When the quary was abandoned HB used to dump ice cream in the pits which according to speculative folk the accumulation of all those nutrients is the reason why the grass there today is so green.

Named after eammon ceannt who had no connection with the area but is proudly claimed by locals for his love of the gael, defiance to the enemies authority and his commitment to a world that could be.

some legends have walked this park from local saints like Jimmy Graham to mentalists like mad Jack coleman.

The walls have been canvases for all the republican groups going back the decades, manys the drugs dealer was threatened on its walls and manys the extreme libertarian counter narrative appeared there also. Though in recent years meaningless grubby yuppie scribbles has started to appear reflective of the gentrification taking place in the area.

The once great view of the sky line of this City visible from the the top of the hill is currently being destroyed by those same cultureless athlantian yuppies. Perhaps someday our local youth will be inspired by eammon ceannt to do...

Wonderful park with amazing staff such as Liam Darren and I can't remember the man's name perhaps Gregory all of whom have been absolutely great friendly and helpful Liam who helped by entertaining my children while I changed our baby and Greg who played fetch with my dogs in while doing so it is those little things that make such a difference when you've got good people like that working the parks as for the park itself it's always highly maintained you will always see the guys cleaning the rubbish and litter as they go about there daily jobs the playground Is a must for children our little ones adore the swing (which are great because we can seat our youngest into them and she is safe) there is a cafe there but it never bothers to open only maybe an odd day the weekend the DCC should really give that space to another person who would make better use and provide the park with a much needed cafe the park is great for picnics days out with the children romantic walks or walking the dog great work guys keep it up...

Park is very clean and spacious. Ideal for getting together with family, friends and children for a picnic, but if you prefer, you can go hiking, play basketball or play tennis. For children there is a playground to compete in the fun. In the upper area it is possible to play football. For those who like to cycle here in this park they have a velodrome sundrive, and you need to ask at reception to know how to use this alternative. But you can ride around the velodrome without having internal access. I noticed that they put some picnic tables, I thought it was really nice. I recommend it to the whole family and to anyone who likes a...

Love this space. Perfect for short runs (2 laps gets you just under 5kms I think), walks, sport, taking kids to play etc. Always some birdlife, colourful flowers or someone to interact with. Tennis courts can get overrun with rollerskaters and others at times but a great facility. Playpark is great for our 1 year old and friends up to 5 (don't know after that). Great selection of things and always something free to use, despite the park often being quite full.

Nice little park and well maintained and clean , very good amenity for the area. Basketball courts and tennis courts always seem to be in use. Playground is popular for families. Also unexpected to have good views across Dublin from the raised area with the soccer pitches. Bonus for this little park is to have the velodrome , on a good day you can sit and watch the cycle races.

I went there for a run today and it's one of the most beautiful parks I've seen in Dublin. I was just wow, how amazing it looked. So many folks playing here and there and lots of trees and benches and amazing green grass. I even saw lot of playing areas for kids like swings and rides etc and also areas for playing football. I ran inside the place and it was just beautiful.
