Quite good but just fell short of a top rating for a few reasons.
I ordered the steak sandwich, which is close to €20. Considering the price, I was expecting to be really knocked off my feet, however the bread that the meal was served in was of a low quality, more like a lidl ciabbatta. The steak was cooked and seasoned well (rare for me) however it didn't seem to be the best cut, with a few gamey lumps and some poor texture. Maybe this was just this instance and not a general thing, but just a few extra seconds to trim the cuts a bit better could make a big difference in this sandwich, particularly as I came when it was very quiet about 4pm.
Perhaps my biggest gripe is that the steak was served whole and not cut at all. I don't know if any of you have ever tried to eat a full uncut steak in a sandwich but it can be a messy disaster! I resorted to cutting it up myself into strips before putting it back in the bread.
I feel as though the Sandwich could have benefitted from a bit more cheese, only showing a very meager sprinkle of parmigiano, however the overall flavour of the meal was very good, and the chips were particularly good.
The pepper sauce was okay, although a bit too sweet for my liking, sugar overpowering pepper, though this could simply be preference.
Overall, nothing really wrong, however just a few small details seemed to go amiss in the meal, which I would not expect...
Read moreExcellent unusual meal, the best I've had out in decades & far better than any food I've actually had in Spain including Andalusia which I toured a few years back. Had 3 tapas which were very filling so my lunch & dinner for next day were sorted. Started with the goats cheese and black pudding salad which was to die for, The only criticism is I found the slightly sweet salad dressing for me over powered the salad (I don't like savory & sweet tastes together). Next I had the seafood gratin & finally the Chicken Marbello which were both amazing dishes with amazing flavours. The 2 servers were lovely though one was a bit loud when I asked her to ask the chef a few things about the black pudding which was sumptuous, I could hear her from the kitchen. Thankfully the restaurant is totally separate from the pub & nicely decorated out Spanish style though I found the tiles on part of the floor very jaded looking though some might think it adds character. One slight observation would be I & another party were celebrating a birthday; a lot of restaurant enquire if its a special occasion & make a bit of a fuss. If they had it would have crowned off an excellent unforgettable meal. If only I gad tried this gem out sooner, I will be returning. A slap on the back to the chef and whole amazing...
Read moreI haven't been to Brady's since around 2019. However, I'm still writing a review for this place in 2024. Why? They have the best chicken wings I’ve ever eaten!
I can't tell you in words how surreal the first night I had these chicken wings was. It was a late night in Ireland, my first time ever being in the country, and outside of the U.S. ever. Me and my family were staying in the area, and had seen good reviews so we decided to stop here after a long day of traveling. I was in a chicken mood for majority of the trip, so every restaurant we’d stopped at I decided to try their wings and see how they held up. The wings here were so much more than I’d been expecting. They were sweet and spicy, however they weren't overpowering and were just enough for me to finish all of them. The wings themselves were so fresh and crunchy as well! It may sound overexaggerated, but I really would fly all the way back to Ireland just to try them again. I’d also ordered some crispy duck as an entrée and it was delicious! So flavorful. As we were leaving, we also spent quite a while talking to our sweet waitress. This restaurant not only has great food, but great atmosphere as well. I encourage everyone in the area to try this restaurant if they...
