We like Vermillion a lot. We have been going there for years and the quality has been consistently high. The environment is nice and the waiters always very kind. We have found that the temperature of the room tends to be a little on the cold side, mostly in contrast with the softness of the carpet and the colors chosen for the walls, but this is just a matter of personal taste. Food is consistently very good. Prices are noticeably higher than other Indian takeaways in the surroundings but the cost seems more than justified by the tastiness of the food and the experience of dining-in. I usually enjoy large portions. I like that in the case of Vermillion they are manageable: they are large enough to satisfy me but not too large that I would be able to eat only 1 thing. Most recipes are in fact very rich with cream and sauces. Tonight we tried to share a starter of prawns (really good) and 1 main of lamb to be able to taste 4 different vegetarian sides. We loved the variety, flavour & texture of each course.

Four of us ate here last night and it was delicious! Really from the various starters we had and the gorgeous main courses everything was excellent. Delicious ice cold beers went down a treat as we sat at the big windows chatting it up. See below for a pic of the shared starter, jeepers the prawns, massive and so so succulent. Big recommend!

Where to start with this one. Just wrong from start to finish. The waiter was so rude and abrupt as if we were putting him out. NO small chat he just pointed out where to sit and when we asked to change he basically grunted at us the whole service. The food was terrible and redicuuslly over priced. The portions are tiny almost child size portions. I got a prawn dish.(3 euro supplement) so hoped that it would have more than 3 small tough prawns. I asked the server is this normal size. He just said it's normal size and walked off. This place says it prides itself on fine dining but if you look at TripAdvisor you can see for yourself what people think. It has clearly gone downhill since the chance of management. Any recent reviews are echoing similar issues to mine. And the management response is laughable and quiet condescending to people's issues. This establishment is clearly not the place it used to be and people need to vote with there feet. If you want an overpriced average meal and made to feel like sh#t, this is the...

This was our first return visit to vermillion since lockdown, and we were quite disappointed.. while the food was as excellent as always, the service was very poor. I appreciate that Mothers Day can be very busy for restaurants ,however, the staff tonight were clearly having difficulty maintaining any kind of decent service.. while we got several apologies, these really didn’t make up for the simplest oversights- eg we had to wait a considerable length of time for our drinks, and when we asked for more water, 15mins later we were asked by staff if we would like more water???😳 and just when I was about to cancel our coffee order, as it was taking so long, it arrived.. In all the times we have visited Vermilion we have never had any issues , but tonight will certainly make me reconsider a...
