If you're on the hunt for an authentic Indian dining experience, look no further than this restaurant, where the essence of Indian culture is beautifully presented on every platter. Specializing in a delightful array of regional thalis, including Gujarati, Punjabi, and South Indian, this establishment truly showcases the diversity and richness of Indian cuisine. Upon entering, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. The fragrance of spices wafts through the air, hinting at the culinary treasures awaiting you. The Gujarati thali is a remarkable tribute to the state's rich culinary heritage. It features a colorful assortment of dishes, from sweet to savory—each bursting with flavor. The use of traditional ingredients creates an authentic experience, making it a must-try. Next, the Punjabi thali is a feast for the senses. With a hearty selection, it includes classics such as paratha’s and Kulcha’s. The standout dish here is undoubtedly the gobi kulcha—soft, stuffed bread that complements the spiced dishes perfectly. Its generous size and delectable taste leave a lasting impression. Finally, the South Indian thali brings a refreshing twist to your palate. Featuring a variety of sambars, dosa’s and a touch of coconut in many dishes, it's a light and vibrant option that balances the heartiness of the Punjabi thali wonderfully. Each item on the platter represents the distinct regional flavors and is beautifully presented. Overall, this restaurant is a treasure trove of Indian culinary excellence. Every thali offers an incredible variety of flavors and textures, celebrating India’s diversity on a single platter. The standout gobi kulcha is a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to crafting authentic dishes. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or a newcomer, this restaurant is sure to delight your taste buds and leave you eagerly anticipating your next visit!

From the moment we stepped into Spice Village, we felt genuinely welcomed by owner Joginder Singh ji, whose warm greeting set the tone for a truly memorable meal. The restaurant’s cozy, vibrant décor—soft lighting, colorful wall art and the gentle hum of Bollywood classics—created an inviting atmosphere that felt just like home. Dal Makhni A velvety, slow-cooked masterpiece—each spoonful was deeply flavorful, with just the right balance of buttery richness and smoky undertones. The lentils were perfectly tender, and a swirl of fresh cream on top added a luxurious finish. Kadhai Paneer This dish boasted beautifully charred cubes of paneer tossed with crisp bell peppers and onions in a bold tomato-onion gravy. The spices were vibrant but never overpowering, giving the curry a wonderful depth and a hint of heat that lingered pleasantly. Paneer Biryani Aromatic basmati rice layered with marinated paneer and hints of saffron and coriander—served with cooling raita. The grains were light and fluffy, and the paneer was soft and succulent. Every bite had just the right touch of warmth and fragrance. Mango Kesar Kulfi A dreamy, silky-smooth kulfi infused with ripe mango pulp and delicate strands of saffron. It arrived beautifully molded and chilled, offering the perfect sweet, creamy finale to our feast. Between the heartfelt hospitality of Joginder Singh ji and the authentic, expertly executed flavors, Spice Village is a true gem. Whether you’re craving homestyle classics or rich, indulgent desserts, this spot delivers—and does so with genuine warmth. Highly recommended!

Rocky and his team have been open since Christmas 2022. His small restaurant is delightfully decorated and impeccably clean. We are from Melbourne and LOVE Indian food. We arrived in time for the early bird (A lower cost offering for people who arrive and leave early(for the benefit of my Aussie friends)). Priced at €22.99 you got a braod choice of entree and main. As is tradition, we were served with poppadams and various sauces. The poppadams were freshly cookod and deliscious. We ordered the Alloo Tikki, Samosas and, as an extra special treat, the Seekh Kebab. All were flavoursome and cooked perfectly. The Seekh Kebab was my favourite but alittle hot for my mother in law (The restaruant will provide you with some yoghurt to held reduce the spice if required) Our mains included the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Chicken Tikka Masala. Both cooked perfectly and not cheap cuts here. We didn't find any fat or gristle (I hate it when a restaurant tried to cut corners with poorer quality meats). The Lamb was melt in your mouth. Both dishes were not at all spicey in the typical sense of the word. Fragrant and slightly sweet. Mains served with fluffy Pilao Rice and Plain Naan. All in all, excellent food at a great price. We chose the cheaperst Tempranillo on the menu at €22, which was very good drinking.

Have been a customer since summer22 when we discovered SV . Have been about 12 times or more in the year past so I can say we are regulars. The staff are generally politel , in all the times visited we have never been welcomed back like so many places but greeted as if our 1st time visit so can't say friendly, That's OK but our last visit we were snubbed. When we arrived the first thing the server did she look at clock and with no smile or greet pointed to a table . I can live with that as we have enjoyed the food and it's a cosy small place . It was 9.10pm . We have asked before if too.late but told no problem even at 10 which is great thou usaly 9ish visit . They have a nice gesture lately on last 4 visits to offer a complimentary drink. I suppose depends on server. On this occasion there was 3 other tables and as the asked for bill like we did they all were asked and given a little toast . We called for our bill and she handed bill no comment and walked away . We paid and left decent 15% tip . Again no words were exchanged when she took away the cash payment It was a bit annoying and offended not to be offered the drink like all the others so we question it . The other server apolosed and offered us . We declined . She did bring but I said sorry I couldn't . It was not the drink per say it was the rudeness not to treat all Like all other customers. We haven't been back and probably not again. Cest Domage as...
