Not amazing. Still a really good tour that should not be missed. Here's why... The good: - Their whiskey competes with anyone. - Prices are decent. - Tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Flat out, he was on point. - I learned more about Irish history and how foreign factors impacted the irish whiskey industry. - Tour goes into detail about the distillation process. - The bar at the end of the tour (should you choose to linger) makes excellent cocktails. Try their Irish Coffee. One of the best I've had. The bad: The tour does not talk much (or at all) about: - How the barrels are made. I know they use a lot of barrels from other spirits. Unsure if they actually make their own. - How the charcoal is made (the lobby is made from wood piles that are stacked in such a way for charcoal to be made). I'm guessing they don't have to filter since they triple distill. Something I should have asked. - They age the barrels off site in the country side to ensure a potential fire does not burn down Dublin. The black growth you'd typically see at a whiskey distillery from the evaporation process adds a ton of charm that you will not see here. I know the title may be misleading compared to the pros and cons. The bad, I feel, is half of the whiskey making process. Overall, it's still a great time and I'd spend the €30 (comes with 4 whiskey tastings) to do it again if I had the choice.

My wife and I went to Teeling Distillery in the end of November and had a truly great time there. The tour was very interesting and informative. We were warned that the production site would be loud and busy, and it was, but what would one expect from the living heart of the distillery? It was actually quite invigorating to see whiskey making process. Out tour guide Lorien was absolutely fantastic, witty, and lovely. She was very knowledgeable about Teeling whiskey and history, answered all our questions, and gave some interesting insights and quite a few laughs. Our tour ended with the premium tasting. We had our share of Teeling whiskey previously, so we were a bit afraid that the tasting wouldn't surprise us. On the contrary, the whiskey was very unique and the choice was quite diversified. There were some interesting distillery exclusives like vermouth or Portuguese red wine finishes. We were very pleased. Quick word about the bar. It had a vast array of Teeling whiskey to try out before deciding to buy a bottle or two. Overall it was a very nice experience. Definitely, going to visit again.

Bottom line first, if you are expecting a good tour with the ability to sample and enjoy Teeling's whiskeys at the end, you are taking a real risk on this one. My experience is that it was a complete waste of my money. I would 100% not recommend this tour. Go see the Guinness Storehouse, go see the Jameson distillery - go visit any other brewer or distiller in Ireland before you visit this place. If you are excited about actually tasting Teeling's whiskeys, you probably want to reconsider and do something else with your time and money. Of every type of tasting event I have been to in my 53 years on this planet, this was, by far, was the worst experience.

Teeling has a tiered pricing level for the tour - 20 euros for two tastings, 30 euros for three tastings, and 35 euros for four tastings. Since I enjoy all types of whiskey/whisky, I went for the four tastings. Of the group of 20 people that were on my tour, I was one of four people who paid for the four tastings.

The tour part of the experience was decent. The young man leading the tour was nice, and did an OK enough job leading the tour. The tour is short and lasts about 30 minutes. It gives a broad overview of the history of Irish whiskey making in Dublin and Teeling's distilling process.

But you're not paying 35 euros for a 30 minute tour. The big part of the tour, the tasting, which our guide kept hyping time and again throughout, was absolute crap and not worth the price of admission.

Two of my four pours were barely, I mean BARELY, even a sip. I would estimate they were about a 1/4 ounce - a freaking tablespoon. I'm not exaggerating. The other 2 were maybe 1/2 ounce. Not a single pour of the four whiskeys I was given to taste even came close to enough to be able to appreciate any of the notes/flavors in the whiskey.

So, while the tour guide, who again continually hyped the tasting throughout our 30 minute tour, is getting excited talking about the whiskey being presented, I'm looking at my four glasses, wondering where the actual whiskey is...The pours I was given were so overtly bad that my wife, who was standing 15-20 feet away from the barrel where we were having our tasting, approached me and pointed out how small they were - and that I didn't get the same size pours as everyone else.

I will reiterate - and I am not exaggerating when I say two of my four tasting pours were maybe, MAYBE, 1/4 of an ounce. The other two were closer to 1/2 of an ounce. Complete garbage.

As a customer and a foreigner in a foreign land, I was in a really uncomfortable position. I couldn't be the American jerk and stop the guide's presentation and tasting by asking in front of everyone why my pours were so tiny. I should have never been put in that situation.

After the tasting, I approached our tour guide to relay my disappointment. I was very polite, not confrontational in the least, and simply said to him that I was disappointed that whoever was doing the pours didn't even make the slightest of efforts of make sure everyone got what they paid for, a nice pour to sample the whiskey. It really ruined the entire experience. Nice as he was, the response from my tour guide was crickets. He literally just looked at me like a deer in headlights and said nothing. So I walked off.

I live in a resort community where we interact with guests all the time and the fact that the tour guide didn't even know how to offer the simplest of apologies for my bad experience speaks volumes about this distillery.

The irony is that not a single other person from my tour group went to the gift shop and bought anything. I bought a 75 euro bottle of the cask strength Blackpitts. I'll enjoy it with my family and a friend or two when I get home, and I willl never buy another bottle of Teeling whiskey based upon this experience.

I would never recommend to anyone that they go on this tour. Go to the pub, drop 35 euros on four of Teeling's whiskeys and sample them for yourself. No 30 minute tour and underwhelming...

I recently had the pleasure of taking the Teeling Distillery tour in Dublin, led by the fantastic guide, Marc. From start to finish, the experience was both informative and entertaining, providing a comprehensive insight into the art of whiskey-making. Marc's unique storytelling ability and witty sense of humor made the tour truly memorable.

The tour began with an introduction to the history and heritage of Teeling Distillery, which added a fascinating backdrop to the experience. Marc's extensive knowledge of the distillery's origins and its role in shaping Irish whiskey was evident throughout, as he effortlessly weaved historical facts with anecdotes and amusing tales.

One highlight of the tour was the tasting session, where we had the opportunity to sample Teeling whiskey. Marc expertly guided us through the flavors and aromas of each variety, offering valuable insights into the characteristics that make Teeling whiskies unique. His ability to describe the nuances of each whiskey with such passion and detail was truly impressive.

After the tour, I had the chance to try the Dublin Coffee (Irish Coffee) at the distillery's bar, and I must say it was the best I've ever had. The smoothness of the Teeling whiskey combined with the perfectly balanced coffee and cream created a truly heavenly blend. It was a delightful way to end the tour and savor the flavors of Ireland.

Overall, I highly recommend the Teeling Distillery tour, especially if you have the opportunity to be guided by Marc. His informative yet entertaining approach, coupled with his ability to share the story of Teeling Distillery in such a captivating manner, made the experience truly exceptional. Whether you're a whiskey enthusiast or simply curious about the whiskey-making process, this tour is a must-visit in Dublin. And don't forget to treat yourself to the Dublin Coffee for an unforgettable taste of...

We opted for the Teeling Select Distillery Tour and booked online in advance. When we arrived we had the opportunity to look around the historical exhibits before our tour started.

Our tour guide gave us a brief history of the Irish whiskey industry and bought us up to date with How Teeling got to where it is today. We then proceeded into another room where we watched a video on the brand from its founders.

This was followed by a wander through the distillery with a lesson on the process of turning the raw ingredients into whiskey including looking at the mash tuns and stills.

The next stage of the tour covered the ageing process including the barrel types and the influence this has on the new make spirit (poitin) for at least 3 years and one day before it can be called whiskey.

The final stage of the tour was the tasting. We got to try 4 whiskies. The small batch, the single malt, the single pot still and the single grain. My favourite was the single pot still.

Once the tour was over, we headed to the bar to try the Brabazon 01 and 02. Very interesting whiskies indeed and knowledgeable bartender. There is a large shop with great souvenirs including the exclusive 33 year old Teeling.

The tour is very professional and well put together and based on what you get to try is on a par with similar tours in the city. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the brand.

I'd say that this tour is really for those that have some interest in whiskey or like to learn about how...
