No matter who you are or where your from, you will always be welcomed, by both staff and patrons, you would enjoy the friendly atmosphere, and the patrons are not shy, they love having the crack,( laugh), and will get up and sing and dance,
You wouldn't be left sitting on your own, for their Irish nature would welcome you into their company, and the stories they could tell you about their lives, they would have you in stitches laughing, but they would respect it if you just wanted to sit by yourself to have a quiet drink, they wouldn't take offence, they would just have their Irish friendly nature
The owner and bar staff are the same, friendly welcoming, and treat everyone the same, whether your a local or visitor, many years ago I was a landlady of a bar, and had lots of staff, although some where good, but nothing compared to the staff they're, everyone if them are professional, friendly, and courteous, this is why the patrons respect them all, and it believe because of the staff, the pub is still in the area, where there were lots of pubs on that street and this is the only one that still remains open,
I've seen people coming in that where either holiday makers or new to the area, that would pop in, intended just to have one drink to see what it was like, and they would end up staying for the night, they had that much fun, because of the staff and patrons down to earth personalities
A good idea to try ring to find out what night they have entertainment, as you will certainly enjoy...
Read moreThe wife and I stumbled upon this pub on a very windy and rainy August Friday night as we were looking for food after arriving in Dublin. Unfortunately they didn't have any, but the bartender seeing that we had broken umbrellas, gave us his from behind the bar. We came back the next night as a thank you, and to return it and of course having many pints of fine Irish beer. We had a blast, and everyone (staff and patrons) treated us so well. The wife loved the karaoke and people really enjoyed hearing her sing. We went back the next night as well. Would highly recommend if anyone is wanting karaoke (would call and ask when he is there) to watch football (Huge TV screen) or just to have a quiet pint or shot of fine local Irish whiskey! Oh yes, we still have the umbrella! Thanks again for such an amazing time, Jody and Tace - The...
Read moreWe found this place by accident in the middle of a brutal (we are not Irish) storm that had destroyed our umbrellas. The owner?/bar keep was super kind and gave us a new umbrella for the walk back to our hotel.
We went back the next night to thank him, and return it but he told us to keep it. We ordered a couple pints and ended up staying until closing due to karaoke! Couldn't help ourselves and went back every night we were in Dublin.
Incredible service, friendly patrons, nice down to earth atmosphere. We highly recommend giving this place a try :)
