Food tasted good, however we had a few issues. -Staff seemed unsure when we arrived for our 6:30pm reservation. -When we were seated, my boyfriend’s chair had a huge hole in it and had to swap it with the chair next to him. -Very little pizza options for vegetarians so we ordered the Chicken & Spinach pizza with no chicken and requested to swap it for pineapple instead. Pizza arrived missing the pepper pearls which were listed as a topping, which was annoying, although the pizza still tasted good. -We noticed at the end we were charged €1.50 extra for the pineapple even though we were minus 2 toppings and the pizza was still full price plus €1.50. -We were sat next to the bar where people sat on barstools, however these barstools scraped against the floor every single time someone moved, creating this awful shrieking sound constantly throughout our meal. Please put some rubber or a soft material on the legs of the barstools to stop this awful noise. -Server forgot to bring us our garlic dip after requesting. -Drinks were nice, cocktails on tap are a nice option but cocktails are not part of the set menu. Hopefully these issue can be addressed as the place has nice food and could be great but needs more attention to detail.

We were looking for a place to grab a bite or drink, and we decided to stop here because we loved the aesthetic. Luckily, the food quality matched the vibe! I have to highlight the pancakes with lemon curd—they brought them on a separate dish that kept them warm the whole time, while the lemon ice cream slowly melted on top. Absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the avocado toast, which tasted like a pizza-bruschetta, the kind you could eat endlessly. Of course, he also had a piece of my pancake because it was incredible, and the portion was so generous that it kept us full for hours! The decor was amazing. The colors and design made it feel like we weren’t in Dublin for a moment. I loved the shades of pink, purple, and gold, even in the bathroom decor. The service was flawless. Everyone was so kind and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.

My friends and l got scammed in this place. Avoid it. I ended up paying 45 for a meal that should’ve cost me 26. Their menu says that if you are a group of 6 or more, to please choose their set menu, which includes an appetiser, a main, and a drink. Because we were 7, we ordered it. When the bill came around, we realised that all the drinks had been charged separately. We told the waiter and he said that it was charged like that because we ordered the drinks first and then the food. He also told us that the system cannot be overwritten. This makes no sense. At the end we had to pay for all drinks independently. There was a friend who had a second glass of wine and also got charged for it independently. Then I asked for that drink included with the set menu to go and they said “we don’t do that”. Such a scam. Avoid this place. Not a very honest business.

My partner and I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Proof on Valentine’s Day. Given the occasion, we expected a pleasant experience, but the evening was anything but enjoyable.

Our starter arrived slightly cold but was decent. However, shortly after, a loud alarm started going off every thirty seconds for about five minutes. No explanation or apology was provided by the staff.

Then came an unbearably long wait for our main course—over an hour with no communication from the staff. Attempts to get their attention were unsuccessful, and as we neared the one-hour mark, the alarm started again, frustrating everyone in the restaurant. Eventually, we managed to speak to a waiter. After another ten minutes, we were told a gas issue in the kitchen had triggered the alarm and stopped food from being prepared. At that point, our meals hadn’t even started cooking.

Frustrated, we decided to cancel the rest of our meal and asked to pay only for what we had consumed. Despite everything, we were still charged €26 for two starters and two drinks. The waiter was somewhat apologetic, but there was no real acknowledgement of the situation or any attempt at making up for the poor experience.

The lack of communication was unacceptable. No one explained the delay or the alarm until we inquired. On top of that, leaving at 8 PM on Valentine’s Day meant we had no chance of getting a reservation elsewhere. The gas issue also raised concerns about whether it was even safe to stay.

To make matters worse, I emailed the restaurant the next day to share my experience and never received a response.

Given the poor service and the lack of communication, I would not return. To feel entitled to change €60 a head (which we would have paid had we stayed for the meal) for this...

Poor and unfriendly staff with no experience in customer service!!! My friends and I were looking to have some dinner, we’re passing by and we walked in The Proof Urban Italian as we heard great reviews of the food and the place. We haven’t done any bookings and we were aware that the place might be fully booked or we would have to wait for a table. As we were very open minded to any suggestions I was very clear to the Waitress that as soon as they have a free table for 3, I would love to have it. Also I made sure that I didn’t mind waiting outside or in the bar having some drinks meanwhile. After a few try’s, I was talking to the waitress/cashier, she sad that she was not understanding what I wanted, probably one of the manager on site standing next to her and pretending that he was not paying attention to what was happening, suddenly told me that it wouldn’t be possible. Not introducing himself or even saying “Hello, what can I help you?” Just said that I would have to give them a call to double check if they were available. I explained once again what I was suggesting, that I would love to have some drinks in the bar while the table was not ready. The Manager, trying to avoid the situation, just turned his back to us. Working as an Food and Beverage Manager, I would think twice before hiring staff that are not able to be flexible/solve a problem or even trying to think about sales. The staff are Customer service Training NEEDED. Just for a start, next time use the magic words, guys. It shows a little bit of respect, that’s a must in...
