A serene slice of Dublin history with cathedral views and joyful vibes
St Patrick’s Park is an absolute gem tucked beside the majestic St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Not only does it offer postcard-perfect views of Ireland’s largest church, but it’s steeped in meaningful history. The park was generously gifted to the city by the Guinness family in the early 20th century—a philanthropic gesture that transformed what was once a neglected area into a peaceful haven for locals and visitors alike.
The grounds are beautifully maintained, with lush lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, and elegant fountains that add a touch of grace to every corner. There are plenty of spots to relax, read, or enjoy a picnic, and the little outdoor café is a delightful bonus—perfect for a coffee and a moment of reflection.

Read moreOne of my favourite parks to visit. Great scenery, always crowded, but there's a bench or two that can be found vacant at most times. Great location as next to St. Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Grafton Street, public toilets and other shops. The playground is one of the best in the area with the most variety of equipment. If has a great sections of climbing equipment for toddlers and older children. It's next to a good amount of green grass area which is surrounded on two sides so it's good for picnics, small children games and activities and running around. Close to the playground is the lake with a gorgeous view (there's a bridge and a summer house) and a couple of swans, ducks and lots of seagulls. The park has lots of entrances and is wheelchair accessible (the bridge would require assistance as it's steep enough). Lots of routes for walks, too. The middle of the park has captivating fountains and flower arrangements and is great to enjoy the...
