The Halfway House — Restaurant in Dublin

Thank you for a wonderful evening for my twin sons 30th Birthday Last night . Your outdoor dining arrangements are a complete success, the area outside "Manotherm" has been transformed into comfortable pleasant mostly covered in oasis, we were very comfortable there all evening. They're were 12 in our party and everyone found their starters, dinner and desert delicious and well presented , we had 3 coeliacs in our party who were very well looked after with good choice from the menu , something that sadly we find lacking in most other establishments . But the best part of the evening was the service , it was second to none, well done to Brendan and John and all your wonderful staff who kept our table attended to very well all evening, and served us all our food together , which was quite a feat but very welcome. Really I can't praise you enough, you have the place working like clockwork . Arrived here yesterday after a cremation in Saint Jerome, when we arrived we stated that there would be a group coming but not altogether they immediately told us they would not take our orders we stated ok that we would order for ourselves and tell the others who had not arrived to go elsewhere. The man behind the bar again refused to serve us and asked us to leave.

All I can say is absolutely ridiculous carry on and very unprofessional we went to another restaurant and here we paid 500euro for food. it doesn't make any sense that you would turn business away like this but I or any if our group will not...

Had vegetable soup and a toasted cheese sandwich here for lunch, although there were plenty of vegetables in the soup it was tasteless and my toastie was black on one side when it was brought to me. I returned it and the lady who served me said that she didn't notice it was burnt, they did replace it. Update 10th December: Two of us here at lunchtime, chef was incredibly friendly and cheerful, nothing was too much trouble for him.
