We eat at this Zaytoon at least twice a month. We have yet to have anything less than a 5 star experience. The venue itself is smart and clean. Really nice decor, but not stuffy. Mix of booths and basic tables that are both comfortable for any size group. There is also a quite fancy bar downstairs that looks interesting but I haven't had occasion to try yet, every visit so far has been with the family.
The menu is simple and small, but everything there is on there is made so well you can't be disappointed. My favourite dish is the Salmon Kebabs which are served on a skewer with mushrooms and tomatoes. I usually have it with rice. I have had it so many times, and every time I have it its like the first time. I could never get tired of it. I used to have the Chollo and Lamb Shish which is also beautiful, but once I tried that Salmon that is the one for me.
The kids will normally have the Little Shish or a burger, but my eldest also tries the Veg options sometimes. She has had the Lentils with Rice a couple of times, which she likes a lot. She has also had the stuffed Aubergine which was nice, but maybe a bit "grown up" for her palate.
Last time I visited I tried the Falafel on the side at the recommendation of the Waitress. I always thought I hated Falafel, but this was out of this world. I will definitely have it as my main next time.
Almost all the dishes come with fresh salad and pickled veg and your choice of rice, bread or baked fries. Also bowls of sauce. There is also Hummus (which I haven't tried yet) and Tzatziki. Everything is prepared freshly in the same room you are sitting in basically, It is a truly authentic experience. You feel like a real guest - the staff are genuinely happy you are there.
The smallest of gripes is that there really isn't anything spicy on the menu. Not even the sauces have any bite. But its not that kind of cuisine and its flavourful enough. I wouldn't mind a bit of chili though.
Overall, I fully endorse, recommend and implore you to go here. Top marks for top food and a...
Read moreZaytoon used to be a great place. Simple and tasty food. Quick delivery. In the last few weeks, on two occasions it was a total disaster. First time the food was late, even though it had beer ordered well in advance. I was told to wait for another half an hour, which meant the food would’ve be one hour late. No apology was given. Just an option to refund me, which I choose. Today the food arrived on time, but items were missing. It was really hard to explain over the phone. For some strange reason the person on the other side decided not to listen the explanation or to take the order number. Instead they were talking with the manager at the same time and therefore not been able to comprehend the issue. Finally the manager pick up the phone and promised to rectify the issue. We are still awaiting the outcome. Again they “forgot” to apologise. Obviously they are doing great and they don’t care about their customers anymore. Anyway, they we won’t be ordering from this place ever again. And the owner’s response proved my point - they don’t care about their customers. Apologies were never offered and one bag was missing, which included 3 breads and a beef meal. The replacement was sent only when we insisted and we were asked to return the original delivery, which we did. What about the first incident? No explanation? The problem always starts from the top. It’s hard to blame the employees, when the owner shows disrespect and choose to...

Update 4/11/2024: Was a regular here but will never return.
Went here for lunch. Ordered the Family Platter for 2, which clearly says 3 Small Mains. Ordered Chicken Shish, Chicken Kubideh and Chollo Kebab as our "3 small mains". When the order arrived, it had 2 pieces of chollo kebab and one kubideh. I knew what the mistake was, they accidentally gave us 2 x Cholo Kebab Small Main and 1 chicken Kubideh instead of what I ordered. Went back to the receptionist, who first denied that I ordered chicken Shish, and then said "one small main" chollo kebab has 2 kebabs in if so "one small main" chollo kebab counts as "two small mains". The irony. No apologies even, and even implied I am the one who has made a mistake because I am a new customer. Well, been coming here for 2 years, sir!!
A classical example of covering for one mistake by making another one, while making the customer appear like a liar or an idiot.
Sure shot way to lose a regular customer who often recommended your restaurant to other and brought groups here for...
