I ordered 2 burrito bowls from Boojum in Blanchardstown over 2 days. One online for pick-up and the other in person. The first bowl was missing guac, veggie crunch (for which I had pre-paid), and lettuce.
I thought I’d give the place a second chance in person to see if the service improves. It did not. Most people in the queue were either not wearing a mask or wearing one under their nose. Nobody was enforcing the wearing of a mask in-store. The person taking the initial burrito vs. bowl order was spending most of their time chatting to their topping providing counterpart, resulting in a backlog of people stretching to the front door. They would take one person’s order and not continue with the next until the entire order was fulfilled (including payment). Each staff member behind the counter had their masks fully under their chin.
I ordered a 3 bean chilli burrito bowl and was told I had to pay extra for guac (I believe it is included with this item as I would often purchase it from the Smithfield and IFSC stores). The bowl itself was fine.
As a big fan of Boojum who owns 2 t-shirts from the stores in the city centre, I was very excited for the opening of a Boojum near my home. Safe to say I won’t be returning to the Blanchardstown restaurant as it is poorly managed with terrible customer service. If I could give less than 1...
Read moreWalked in to blanch shop yesterday to see a staff member sitting on a food preparation table, about 6 staff in the place not one of them lifted their heads to welcome us or advise us what the system is. One staff member strolled over to the service counter and just pointed at the meat in the counter and made eye contact, not a word spoken, when I said hang on a sec while I look at the menu she pointed at it a second time, not a word spoken again, I said again give me a minute and she rolled her eyes and walked back to the other group of staff all huddled around your one sitting on the counter still chatting and laughing. Not a drop of experience between any of them, a shop full of teenagers yapping and sitting their arses all over food preparation areas. Was on my heals and out the door in a heartbeat, party of 5 of us, if staff don't know how to even speak words or understand basic hygiene I had major doubts about the food sitting in the counter, is it checked or rotated, highly unlikely after what I witnessed . Went to Bunsen instead, the first sight I saw, with only one foot in the door, was 3 staff members in Bunsen sanitising tables, chairs and toilet area, they even said hello! Seriously lads I was in the mood for a burrito too! Burrito with a sprinkling of arse sweat,...
Read more2024: Food whilst nice is very limited in range. Queues are always long, and you will reqularly see people leave in frustration having already queued for far too long. Click and collect is hit and miss. Around half of the time, the food will be ready as scheduled, other times the order has been mislaid and not even started. Staff are always pleasant and helpful but unfortunately never knowledgeable about their products and services. This may be a result of a high staff turnover, as whenever I query anything, I will usually receive an answer of "sorry, I don't know, but I've only just started here" Very confusing also that the menu and selection options in their app, on just eat, and in store are all different both in content and on some items on price too. June 2025 Update: Have to remove a star, prices have gone up by over 25% in under 12 months while the portion sizes have decreased. And the last star is lost as they are offering drone delivery options, a most intrusive service that should not be permitted. This is the final nail in the coffin for us, as boojum is supporting a drone service that degrades our quality of home life we can no longer support boojum with our business...
