Falafel - Blanchardstown — Restaurant in Fingal

First of all, I feel sorry for whoever owns this restaurant and the staff working in there, since I get the feeling that this place is doomed to be closed very soon due to exceedingly poor service.

1- Place: Very small to have all these numbers of tables with no feeling of privacy at all as the tables are almost overlapping. Adding to this, badly ventilated. Feels like you're struggling to breath with no air conditioning or windows together with exceeding number of customers in such a small place. Place is dirty and does not smell good at all. When I went to the toilet, I found someone, likely a staff member, with his bike blocking the small entrance to the toilet doors. I am wondering why someone comes to this location with a bike 🤔 Toilet door has no inside locker. So, you have to lock it with your feet 😊

2- Staff: Very poor English, unavailable most of the times likely due to understaffing, very unprofessional, and you have to ask them at least 3 times to get what you want. The most remarkable thing is that all the staff is not wearing a face mask, and they don't ask for COVID certificates neither, which is against the government guides.

3- Food: Took them ages to get the food ready, and the food was missing some plates, and took them another while to get the missing plates after lots of requests and kids moaning about their missed chips. Naan bread and kofta was tasty, but the rice was so cold, and the ribs were raw.

4-Payment: They only accept cash !!! But they left you an ATM machine just after the entrance, which will rob €3 for the transaction. Unnecessarily waste of money with no explanation why they don't have a card machine like every restaurant and shop in Ireland have?!

Overall experience is unpleasant and I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

My advice to whoever owns this place, and I doubt that he even reads these reviews, having a restaurant running is not a big deal, but maintaining a good service should be a target, as it is almost always the case, otherwise you may loose what you worked...

Food wise: I had the Shawarma Chicken meal There was more skin and cartilage than actual chicken! Moreover, the chicken was cold! Must have been laying around for a while. The taste though wasn’t bad but there was little chicken meat .. I ate the edible parts and the parts that were not edible such as skin with feathers on and cartilage were left!

The chips and the bread were fresh thank god! Otherwise I would have left hungry!

Service wise: the restaurant is big! It can easily accommodate 40 people Most of the tables were dusty. The same lady that handles the orders at the cashier handles cleaning of tables and also is the only waitress.! So she is doing several jobs at a time. needless to say service is slow because of that!

The lady was friendly and apologetic & I don’t think its her fault. I blame the owner for not hiring extra person.

The atmosphere: missing good lighting! Dark decoration ( dark green and black table with poor lighting … is just bad combination ) They had large windows but its cloudy rainy day which is the usual day in Ireland so not much of Natural lights either!

No heating’ it was very cold inside! I noticed later one of the customers that had kids just went up by himself and closed the windows!

The bathroom sink is unusually high! It actually reaches to my chest! Closer to my neck than my waist so really odd bathroom sink arrangement !

I am Arabian and non of the food tasted arabic. I initially thought it was Kurdish but when I asked it turned out to be Turkish food. I see that this restaurant has high rating and I know the turks do better food than this. So I might give it a second chance and visit again and order something different when/ if I do I will write and update and change the rating.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We have ordered from here a number of times. This time we waited over an hour and a half for delivery when it finally got delivered the driver had no change he told us he would go get it but we told him to just leave it as we were hungry and just wanted to eat. Started to eat my one and was taking some meat out from the bottom of the container and found a hair. Rang the restaurant and the woman could barely speak English asked me around 5 times what was wrong with my order. I asked to speak to a manager and it was the rudest man I've ever spoke to, basically called me a liar and told me he could only refund for the one we found a hair in. Obviously we wernt going to eat the other after finding a hair. He started to become hostile and just telling me his staff wear hairnets and It wouldn't be the first time someone had lied about finding a hair in the food. Rang justeat and explained what happened they said they'd ring back and never did - €30 down the drain including the €5 extra we gave to the driver. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE OF A RESTAURANT IT SHOULD...
