Half and Half Restaurant / Take away — Restaurant in Fingal

We ordered from here through JustEat this evening at around 6pm. The food came at approximately 6:30. We ordered the: Kids Mac & Cheese The Geetsy burger Pulled Chicken Burger Kentucky Chicken Burger To say the food was disgusting is an understatement. It was appalling. The Mac & Cheese was not even close to what Mac and Cheese is meant to be. It genuinely did not smell right or taste it either, on top of that the pasta tasted old and had an odd odor, it seemed AND tasted old to say the least (had somewhat of a fishy odor to it) and was tasteless, barely any seasoning to be quite frank. The 'cheese' sauce in the mac & cheese did not seem like cheese at all. Just orange goop mixed with old macaroni. We really hoped that this was the only issue with the food (because the rest of the food was more pricey as you know)until we moved on to try the burgers. They were awful, absolutely dreadful. The pickles in the Kentucky Chicken burger smelled gone off and very pungent, it was the first whiff we got and it was horrible, not even going to mention the taste of the burger as a whole. The chicken was dry, plain, and generally the burger just tasted pretty much bland. The bbq sauce on the burger was horrible too, thought that might have saved it but unfortunately it did not. That's only two of the items we ordered I am writing about. The third item was the Geetsy burger. The burger had a severely large amount of mustard, it felt like the mustard was 'dumped' inside the burger. The burger patties were very dry and the same story with the pickles occurred, pungent and nasty tasting. A bite or two was enough for us to know that something was off and the food tasted horrible and old. Last but not least was the Pulled chicken burger. It was overflowing with the pulled chicken itself. Had attempted to cut the burger in half and couldn't even reach the bottom nor find the bottom of the burger bun itself. The filling itself was vile and the pulled chicken itself was very dry and overall had the texture of tuna. To be brutally honest with you, we could not take more than two bites of each food item we had ordered. The food genuinely put us off from eating and to be quite frank I myself had felt a tad bit nauseous. Our appetites were completely gone after this horrible experience of a meal.

This was our first time ordering from Half and Half and I had high expectations from this food place due to the VERY high priced on the food. We were hoping it would be a good food experience but unfortunately not. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. I truly think we should at the least be refunded, but I doubt that will happen which is very unfortunate for us, as we paid 40 euro for this very poorly meal. Will not be coming back here ever again. Much rather prefer a fast food chain restaurant burger than this sh*t show of...

We ordered from here last night, well never again spent €40.00 between 3 of us. The portions were a disgrace way to small, we wanted 2 x the Monday burger deal @ €8.99 and because we had to order online we were charged the full price. The burgers tasted like they had been cooked a long while ago and just kept warm until someone ordered then put together on a bun. They were like sand in the mouth (like the way chicken goes if over cooked), they were a normal size but flatted out more to look bigger and the bun was slightly bigger than a normal size bun, to give the appearance that it was a big burger. the skinny chips, there was more AIR in the box than food. For the price it was a disgrace this company is just robbing you of your money for what you get. I and anyone I know will never order from them again and I hope no one else has to pay that amount and get 'RIPPED-OFF' like we were. If there were minus Stars on this I'd give them at least -5. Before any one thinks it's just another moan, well it's not I have worked in food fast and as a chef and I would never serve anything that 'CR*P', to anyone. I truly think we should at the least be refunded, but I doubt that will happen or even if they read these comments. A JOKE of a FOOD COMPANY. Ordered a burger and sweet potato chips. Sat down on one of their tables for two, it was the last table available so had to settle for the one nearest the exit.

After about 40 minutes (too long) wait the food arrived. The burger and sides were lovely but to be honest I was expecting a bigger portion. The chips arrived in those fancy looking baskets lined with paper, the paper was positioned in a way that it appeared to be loads of sides but there was not.

While I cannot fault the food I was expecting a larger portion for the price.

The main negative about the place was the door. It was very cold outside and each time the door opened it would let the cold in (obviously). The issue was the door was not fitted with a spring for auto closing which meant it stayed open after customers failed to close it. I could see this bothered alot of customers and not just me.

The big menu display above the counter was positioned in a way that you could not read your order off to the staff without stepping back, felt this was a bad planning design.

Lastly the photos shown by people on Google displaying trays of food did not look like ours, this added to a bit to the disappointment.

I would love to come back and give the place...
