TGI Friday’s used to be a must-go place to eat when in Belfast or Dublin, as we found that food was delicious and portions fairly generous what made higher-than-average prices acceptable as you really get what you pay for. I even left a recommendation for Belfast branch when we were out there with our friends last year. So as me and my husband happened to be in Dublin Blanchardstown on my birthday and we decided to have our lunch/dinner here today and spend the coupon we had before we head back home to celebrate with friends. We know that place is crowdy at times so were ready to wait for reasonable time. On the entrance we were told that waiting time would be 10 mins what sounded promising, we seen several empty tables - some of which must been reserved, but after 45 min wait and seeing people that came after us (with buzzers)being seated we went back to enquire if the buzzer we were given is active at all. As it turned out the number of our buzzer was taken down wrong. We were seated at a nearest available table which was objectively worse than that of the people that came in after us. The menu was given straight away but we had to call a passing waiter to give our order as she was walking by multiple times without paying attention to us. The drinks we asked for were Pepsi with NO ice - we were brought the ones WITH the ice, but these were quickly replaced when I pointed this out. The waiting time for food was quite long too, so we were pretty annoyed by that time - husband suggested that we just leave the coupon to cover the drinks and leave, but as I was still hoping for a pleasant gastronomic experience I’ve persuaded him to stay. When placing the order we have asked for a bill straight away and given our discount coupon so we would not need to wait much longer after we finished. However the food did not fix the crack - when my dish was brought waiter had dropped part of the rice to my lap, my husband received a different dish from what he ordered. So the manager got involved, and fair play to her, I have told her all the situation after which she just took away our bill saying this would be on the house and offered a cocktail which we refused as wanted to get finished ASAP. Needless to say we hardly tried the food as we just lost the appetite due to all the above and had no time left to try and relax as had to turn back home to get...
Read moreWe had our worst time ever here thanks to a Manager called Lisa where we were embarrassed in front of other customers and our family. Eight of us went for a family meal and we ordered a bottle of wine for two, when two of us tasted the wine it was gone off, we asked the waitress to return it and she took the two glasses she had filled and the bottle back. 10 minutes later Lisa comes to our table and not in a low voice stating that she could see nothing wrong with the wine and that we were just being rude in returning the wine as we consumed half the bottle. Again I informed her that both glasses of wine were taken away with the bottle and that there was a nasty taste off the wine. I asked her if she had tasted the wine and she said no I don't drink wine but she and the others see nothing wrong with the wine. She then went on a rant stating that should she decide to change the wine and should there be anything wrong with the next bottle she would not exchange it or refund it.
To add insult to injury one of our chicken dishes came out half raw and it took 35 minutes to replace. The other two beef dishes came out with out their wraps and fillings, this took 15 minutes to get them hence the meals had gone luke warm.
I have never had an issue with any establishment when returning wine that has turned, all of them are very sorry that they have served wine that had turned to the customer, but not TGI' and Lisa who can tell wine is ok by looking at the bottle and feel no need to taste to confirm what the customer said.
A very unpleasant afair because one person thinks she can talk to customers in this manner. She does not understand customer retention costs against the low cost of just changing the wine. Being called lier's is not a nice experience in any restaurant.
Most upsetting for all of my family and myself on this Christmas Eve meal that we have had here at TGI's in Blanchardstowm for the...
Read moreI had a truly disappointing experience at TGI Fridays last Monday. I went for an early dinner with my partner, and while the place wasn’t extremely busy, it felt very disorganised from the moment we arrived. Our server seemed new and a bit lost, which I understand can happen, but overall, the staff seemed scattered and uncoordinated.
When the hostess seated us, it took around 15 minutes for anyone to come by and take our order. Meanwhile, we saw the table next to us leave because no one attended to them—even though they arrived shortly after we did. We finally ordered, but it took a surprising 45 minutes to get just three items. For a quiet evening, the delay felt excessive.
The biggest issue, however, was with our drink refills. I asked for a Pepsi refill, and my partner asked for Sprite. Our server brought Pepsi and water instead, which we pointed out politely. She took the cup back, but then I saw her turn around, chatting with other staff while handling the straw in our cup, touching it casually as if it didn’t matter. To my shock, she returned with the same cup, with the same paper straw that was visibly soaked from prior use.
After this, another server took over, who was much more attentive, but the experience had already left a bad taste. The food itself was average, and the ambiance didn’t make up for the lackluster service. TGI Fridays, please train your staff on basic hygiene and customer care, especially when handling guests’ food and drink. This visit left a lot...
