The place is right in the center, just in front of the port, so it's a convenient spot for people passing by. I went there for a beer with friends first, we had the beer at the counter and the bartender was nice and funny. I came back for dinner, but unfortunately there was a long waiting time. They suggested that we wait at a nearby cocktail bar. While it turned out to be a good discovery, it ended up making us spend more than we had planned because we felt obligated to buy something there. Anyway, when we finally got a table, they split our group into two tables and took our orders separately. As a result, when the food arrived, some of us were just starting to eat while others were already finishing. I ordered the fish pie. It was good, a kind of revised cottage pie with a seafood chowder at the bottom instead of meat. It was a nice idea, and the overall taste was good. However, there seemed to be a small amount of fish compared to the potatoes on top, and the consistency was too liquid. Nevertheless, it was still okay.
On the other hand, I wasn't pleased when one of my friends ordered a Caesar salad with eggs and received her meal as the last person, after everyone else had already finished. To make matters worse, she only received a plain green salad and half an egg!
Despite these hiccups, it's still a good spot to grab...
Read moreWe just left this place and had the rudest waiter I have ever experienced! When he brought our food out he dropped the plates down anywhere he could and left the plates hanging over the side while we were trying to make room on the table. No help whatsoever turned and left with an awful attitude. I then ordered a pint of Guinness which he brought out and banged on the table spilling everywhere, turned again and left!! This was completely unacceptable, I went back into the bar (we were sitting outside) and met who I think was the owner and explained what happened, he apologised and he came out with a pint. We were here with our 3 year old child and niece, trying to sit and enjoy a nice evening without having to deal with ill manners of the highest order like this! We just wanted to leave the place and we left with a very very bad taste in our mouth after having a lovely day in dingle. Usually I would never write a bad review but this was a totally different case. The food was ok, the location good and the lady who brought us to the table was lovely! I hope the owners take this...
Read moreGood evening all, travelled all the way down to Dingle to be met with Dublin prices. My friends and I who are veterans of the 2023 120km dingle peninsula Odyssey weren't treated as wandering giants of the one day sportif but rather innocent craic seeking Americans. Oldly enough we were told before we sat that there is a time limit to our stay, assuming the dollar tip goes far in this beacon of mediocrity. We were not charmed or impressed with the scant service and forgetful floor staff...as we have endured many hailstones in our 2023 quest of the peninsula. The local fish and chips which was probably caught in the depths of the ocean off Argentina and battered in its way here was tender but oily....however, the biggest regret was the minuscule portion of "handcut think" (frozen from a bag) chips. Of which was very few, approx 12 chips per plate...we politely and traditionally irish didn't complain and ordered three more portions.
Total cost 1,000,000 euro.
Not again, never again,...
