Walked into the bar and we asked could we sit outside and we were told by a girl yes and she asked we’re we having food, we said yes and she no problem take a seat wherever outside and someone will bring us menus. Got outside and was greeted by another girl who asked did we want a table and again were we ordering food we said yes again she told us take a seat anywhere and she would drop menus over to us. 10 mins passed the girl had walked back and fourth a few times and gave us no menus. Another member of staff spotted us and again for the third time we were asked were we ordering food we said yes she asked had we ordered already we said no, we were suppose to have been giving menus, when this woman found out we had not ordered it was as if we had inconvenienced her and insulted her personally by how she reacted. She threw menus down at the table and told us to hurry on as the kitchen was closed even though 2 other staff members had failed to tell us this and told us to sit down not a bother and the menus would be dropped over as if they had no clue the kitchen was in fact closed. If we knew the kitchen was closed we would of happily left and just gone somewhere else as it was no big deal, After she threw the menus down we were told she would be back in 2 seconds and to have our minds made up, she came back like she said in the 2 seconds and practically bullied us to make up our minds there and then saying ‘ lads can ye hurry on like ye need to tell me your order now’ I was appalled by how rude she was to us and how unbothered she was with how she was speaking to us. I told her it’s fine we will go somewhere else, she took the menus out of our hands as quickly as they were thrown at us and just responded ‘ grand’ and walked away from us with no apology or anything. That was the worst experience in a restaurant/bar I have ever had and if possible would like to be contacted by a manager of The Laurels. The member of staff who this was is on your website in your ‘Meet Our...

Cozy Atmosphere, Great Pizza & Friendly Staff

We had a great time at this spot! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a cozy, old-school vibe that makes you feel right at home. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, even though it was a busy night. We had about a 30-minute wait, but we lucked out and got a table right next to the fireplace, which made the whole experience even better.

I ordered a few Guinness throughout the night. While it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, it also wasn’t the worst—it was decent enough to enjoy with the meal. What really stood out, though, was the pizza. It was absolutely phenomenal! Perfectly cooked with a crispy-yet-chewy crust, great toppings, and just the right amount of sauce and cheese. If you visit, I highly recommend giving the pizza a shot—it’s definitely worth it!

Even though the place was packed, the service remained attentive, and the staff kept things running smoothly. It’s a great spot to hang out, enjoy a drink, and grab some really good food. The fireplace seating made it extra special, so if you get a chance to sit there, it’s definitely worth the wait. We’ll definitely be back for another round of pizza...

We were left waiting at the entrance for ten minutes before someone came to serve us. We were then left waiting another few minutes standing waiting to be seated even though we had pre booked a table for 7pm, when we were eventually seated the waitress threw down menus and never said a word or asked if we wanted a drink. Food was ok but very overpriced for what it was and no salad came with any of the dishes which it normally did in other places. I had only one drink and half of it left when we ordered a second round and the bar man came down and took my half full gin away from me which they were charging ridiculous money for as well. Would not recommend this place at all the service is so poor and such unfriendly staff and also taking away my drink from me which I hadn’t even finished shows how rude and ignorant they are not even a thank you when leaving down the food or drinks. Don’t go near this place we won’t be...

We really loved our visit to The Laurels when we dropped in! The place appeared to be really busy upon first entering but we were pleasantly surprised to hear they could seat us right away. It turns out that the narrow opening can be deceiving as there is quite a bit of seating in the back and sides that you can't see from the front. They have a few different Irish beers on tap and I was glad to grab one to get started. We had the fish and chips which was pretty tasty so that is my first recommendation, it was a generous portion with plenty of chips to go with it. The dessert follow up was the greatest surprise, I've never had banoffee pie but I would get it again and again! Very very good for satisfying the sweet tooth with an awesome banana flavor. Stop in at The Laurels, you won't regret it!

Absolutely amazing dining experience! Huge selection of gluten free and even got my own little GF menu, staff very knowledgeable about my other allergies too. Althought it was busy, the staff were extremely attentive and our food was ready in under ten minutes, never had such quick service! Lovely ambient lighting and staff so friendly. Very decent price for a lovely area, and drinks menu huge as well with lots of variety, from cocktails to beer and wine. I had a lamb shank which was divine, cooked to perfection. Overall thoroughly enjoyed our meals.
