Molloys Bar & Grill — Restaurant in South Dublin

I'm not usually someone who writes reviews, good or bad but I've been going to this pub for years and always loved it. The downfall for me was on St.Patricks day I went into the restaurant part of it for dinner. When a waitress came to ask us how everything was going my friend said jokingly "You know the food is good when everyones gone quiet". To this the waitress just stared at him, we thought she maybe couldn't understand his accent (despite him being from the area) or just hadn't heard that phrase before so we repeated simply that "he was saying the foods very good" but she ignored all of us, and got heated with him saying it was her job to come and check on us etc and then stormed off saying she wouldn't come back to our table. This left us all confused and I can only assume she misheard him and thought he told her to be quiet? Either way despite us trying to get her attention for the next few minutes to explain she ignored us completely, went and talked to her fellow employees about it blatantly pointing in our direction. True to her word she served all the other customers in our vicinty and cleared their tables and completely ignored us, we sat with the remains of our food infront of us for nearly 40 minutes waiting for someone to come to clear them and to get the cheque as was done with the table next to us but none of the staff came near us. To make things worse this particular friend of mine is autistic and she ruined the night for him, he was worried for the rest of the night whether his facial expression had been wrong or if he had hurt her feelings. I've worked service jobs before and realise she was probably stressed out on a busy night like Paddys but the lack of professionalism and just plain decency to react like she did to a paying customer without hearing us out and then ignoring us is insane and...

Normally I would recommend this pub the staff are lovely and the food is good so this review is based on our experience since the resteraunt reopened. I think management have been way too strict on the times and we've been rushed out on two occasions. the first occasion a drink was accidentally spilled over one of us on table by staff which wasn't the end of the world it happens but our friend on our table spent 20-30 minutes to dry up and we had to leave near enough the same time.

The second occasion I booked a table almost as early as possible on app for a match and I left a comment to say that. They advertised the match on Facebook so I rang to make sure of my booking and the staff didn't seem sure if I was definitely able to get a table luckily I did get a table but staff asked us to leave before match was over and gave us the bill and told us they're super busy and we just about got to stay there for the last 15 minutes of the match without being able to order a drink even though we selected the only time closest to the match on app as early as possible so i would suggest ringing for table and not using app I don't even think they read the comments. We booked before people we know through the app and they got to stay there longer.

Honestly I'd just wait for restrictions to be lifted to go back because they're too hard...

Terrible experience here. We were sat down and left without menus for 10 minutes, but other than that the service wasn’t bad. The food on the other hand was just awful.

My girlfriend ordered a chicken Caesar Salad and it was probably the worst salad I’ve ever seen served in my life. The chicken wasn’t breast, it was different cuts and had dark meat and sinew all over it. It was freezing cold aswell. The rest of the Salad was just bacon lardons, lettuce leaves and covered parmesan. I would actually eat anything but I couldn’t even eat it for her it was that bad. She ordered the taco chips which I actually liked but they were absolutely drenched in taco sauce which should’ve really came on the side.

I ordered the steak sandwich and it was below average. The ciabatta wasn’t a ciabatta at all, more of a soft roll made to look like a ciabatta. I asked for my steak medium and it was raw. I don’t mind my steak cooked anyway, but if it was anyone else it would’ve been sent back no doubt. The pepper sauce was tasty and the chips were okay too.
