Eddie Rocket's — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Arklow

Diabolical doesn't even begin to cover our visit here a few evenings ago. Our electricity was out at home due to Storm Darragh so we were starving and had no choice but to eat out.

Things started to go downhill immediately when we were offered a booth that had food and rubbish all over the floor under the table. The girl dealing with us reluctantly let us sit somewhere else after we requested not to sit in filth while we ate and we were given a different table. Order was taken promptly enough but it took over half an hour for the food to arrive.

My partner's hot dog was overdone to the point she could barely cut through it and the stainless steel cup she was given for her milkshake was already dirty but she didn't want to make a fuss. I did though however when I discovered a disgusting hair in my fries and sent them back. I was apologized to profusely and told I was going to get replacement fries along with a discount for our whole meal. Fair enough I thought, mistakes can be made.

While I waited for the replacement food, we witnessed customers being told to use wooden cutlery because they had no actual cutlery washed, people who were waiting a long time to even have their order taken being told they weren't getting food because the chefs apparently refused to cook, staff members openly bickering with eachother on the restaurant floor, people waiting upwards of 20 minutes to pay their bill and to top it all off, the replacement food I was told I was getting never arrived so we got up and left. Told the girl at the till the replacement food never arrived and they knocked some more money off the price but even with the discount our already crap evening due to the storm was just ruined even further by the incompetence of the staff here.

Needless to say we're not coming back in a hurry. If you're not going to bother training your staff properly then don't expect people to bother coming back.

EDIT: Management did get back in touch with me and refunded the cost of the meal and offered their apologies which is greatly...

Brought our 3 kids for dinner here yesterday as a treat before the cinema. It’s a fast food restaurant so gave ourselves an hour to grab dinner here with enough time to get dinner and walk up to the cinema. After they finally took our order we got our drinks and 35 minutes later we asked if the food was going to be much longer because we had the cinema booked and after a further 10 minutes of them all huddled in the corner of the kitchen staring at our table they told us they hadn’t actually put our order through the system and sorry etc… We got up and said we were going to leave and stood at the till explaining we’d pay for our drinks. They all just stared at each other and said they needed their supervisor. My husband said we were leaving and would come back after the cinema because this even seemed like a drawn out task. They told him they couldn’t let us leave!! I told him to go to with the kids so the wouldn’t miss the start of the movie and I’d stay captive for the cokes until they sorted out whatever they were doing. Have been here so many times before, its always the same, if the staff are serving anymore than 3 or 4 tables it’s a disaster. Food is never great, for some reason it’s just not the same as other Eddie rockets but this visit really tipped me over the edge. Ruined a nice night for the kids: it’s far from cheap so I don’t understand how they cant get experienced staff and cooks. Should have made the drive down the road to McDonald’s. Kids would be fed and wouldn’t have had to deal with all that when we just popped out for a quick dinner and cinema. This is the second time sometime like this has happened in there. Reason I’m writing this review. AVOID if you see it...

Not a good experience here at all yesterday.. Had our order taken and it came out without a dip. Tried to catch our servers attention to see if we could get it sent over but she had gone we couldnt see her so maybe she was finished her shift but not once did anyone come over to our table to ask us was everything ok for us or if we needed anything else and you're not supposed to get up from your table due to covid restrictions but it was impossible to get anyones attention. By the time we got someones attention we needed more drinks so we asked for the dip and more drinks about 10/15 later the drinks came out still no dip and we were charged for it on our bill i told them it never came out and we werent even apologised to it was just taken from the total and the bill given back to us. Very poor service you're not supposed to get up from table due to restrictions but no servers will come over to ask if you need anything and if everything ok for you and its impossible to catch someones attention. Used the bathrooms once while we were there aswell and there was no toilet roll in any of them. Wont be returning...
