Leona's on Nine Market Street — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Bandon-Kinsale

Was feeling rather unwell this morning and popped in here and asked politely to use the bathroom. I was informed by owner curtly.." they are for customer use only". I accepted same initially, but returned and again politely queried again. With the same curt manner and a scowling face, I was told " if you want to use toilet, buy a coffee" before she took a step towards me, I imagine this was done so her customers did not overhear her disrespectful tone and manner.she then turned her back to me to continue her tirade. I left feeling rather shocked and upset, I'm 65 years old and just needed to use the bathroom briefly..its wasn't like a group of rowdy teenagers had walked in, which I would've understood the refusal. I walked on and found another coffee shop where I was treated with dignity and respect! Leona's?...

The food here was quite good - delicious chowder and veggy sandwich, but the service was appalling! We were the only customers in at lunchtime and were ignored for quite some time. When waitress finally came over to take our order, we asked what the soup special was as it was not on the menu. She slammed a specials board on our table and seemed quite annoyed.Later, when I asked if it was possible to get my sandwich as a wrap, she scolded me that it was clearly posted on the menu that this was not possible. She never asked how our food was, and never brought the bill....

Fabulous food here that really took me by surprise. This unassuming little spot has got amazing flavors. We had the wagyu burger and seafood chowder. Flavors on the. Burger was a flat out amazing double decker topped with onion rings. The chowder was absolutely loaded with seafood that was incredibly fresh. Came with some soda bread that was to die for.
