Dinos Midleton — Restaurant in The Municipal District of East Cork

FOOD- Two star for food because it  was certainly not what i was used to from Dinos in the City.  I only got chips as i was unsure  of the food quality as the staff in the kitchen did not exhume confidence in me. One guy playing with one or two wraps as he was heading from where he obtained them to his work station to prepare them -  not sure if he wore gloves. Chips were normal, I  would have produced similar,  if not better at home. They were edible, then again, all one needs when they are starving is an appetite, and that i had.

SERVICE. Firstly, Three machines for placing orders, certainly not enough as it is a slow process.  Not having used one before, i asked two young lads if we had to order with machines only-  in full ear shot of one of the "pretty robotic looking creatures" standing behind the counter, I even looked one in the face as i said it, but no assistance their. And the young lads i asked did not know either.  I was about to walk out but i decided to watch another customer as i was not giving up that easy, and i dont think she appreciated me staring over her shoulder watching how she ordered; but left with no other option, i had no choice.  Moreover, i had had mixed reviews from others who went their, plus i was starving.

The Two half nervous looking staff members ( pretty robotic looking creatures) out front with nothing to do but look pretty and smile and pass the food brought to them by kitchen staff was too much.  No need for two as they had nothing to do but giggle at each other whilst taking the odd glance at customers- were they having a giggle about certain customers? Not sure, but it could have been taken that way very easily.

ATMOSPHERE  - No star, very cold atmosphere, unwelcoming counter  staff ( PRLCs were very out of place looking. Lacked a decent personality- obviously very badly trained for the hospitality service. Manager needs replacing or at least a good kick up the arse,  Personally, i would fire him/her as they should no better.  DINOS have a reputation to keep up and it was very badly manifested in this premises.

KITCHEN WOW! Alarm bells ringing. seriously overcrowed for a small kitchen, an accident waiting to happen, or else they were all crowding around the one small area. But service was very quick, waiting time was reasonably short. Hence the Two stars. One was for quick service the other was the Two PRLCs (staff members) out front did manage the odd fake looking smile. Irionically, I here quite a few people complain about the counter staff and the customer service, ie their inability to be helpful regarding ordering just a  ouple of pieces of chicken separately. You see this is the problem with no real counter service- machine ordering is not always the best option.

My advice is to get rid of pay machines alltogether or at least give the option to order and pay at the counter also, especially for those who are put off by machines. Seriously, if you are going to have two staff out front doing very little, they may as well be taking some orders and money, as not everyone likes to pay by card, and then hire properly trained staff with good personality to add some bit of an atmosphere to the place.  Most importantly; train the gobshits in the kitchen on how to produce food that meets  Dinos standards as they most certainly are not in this place.

Will I return to DINOS Midleton. NO! unless i hear the standards have changed. Good reputation alone is not enough to keep a buisness going and this place has very mixed reviews.

Bad reputation will destroy a buisness very fast and DINOS Midleton has a poor reputation as we speak.

The design of the building is not great either for dining in. Too small,  but its too late to change that now,  still time to change the  Quality of food, Customer Service and  Atmosphere though

I appreciate my review wont be appreciated but it must be taken as a long term fan of Dinos and i am an honest critic telling it like it is. This should serve as a warning light to the owners. Your staff here are doing your good name...

Been a fan of dinos for years, specially there chips but this place gives dinos a bad name I’ve been a few times in last month my usual dinos is the city centre and every time I’ve been to Midleton the food has been awful the chips are either cold or have been reheated I always get chips and cheese and the only time they were nice was the first day I was in there which would of been about a week or 2 after they opened, I taught maybe a once off or something but it’s been bad now Everytime I’ve went in I’ve given up giving the benefit of the doubt, chips are cold or reheated chicken is old and dry very disappointing but the staff inside are very welcoming! Even today I got cheese chips and the cheese was old and hard and chips were black in colour and...

I can’t say enough good things about Dino’s in Midleton. The staff here are truly what make the place special — every single person I’ve interacted with has been friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Whether it’s a busy evening or a quiet afternoon, the service is always done with a smile. You can tell the team really care about what they do, and that makes all the difference.

The food is usually very tasty, i am yet to be disappointed with the food. I ordered chicken tenders and it was great so i came back for a breast in a bun yesterday. The only bad thing I can say is that my drink wasnt filled to the top as it was before and that sometimes the waiting time can be a bit long but i have seen an improvement in waiting time.
