We were very fortunate to get a sitting as a walk in, without a booking, on a busy Saturday night. We were given a table for a hour (before a booking would take our table). It was truly an enjoyable hour well spent. Salmon main course was succulent, Thai chicken curry while modest in portion was delightful and ‘tasted like more’. The sirloin steak eclipsed all though, in size and presentation. Desert while worth a try, found it hard to compete with the main courses. But like every dining experience there is always going to be one course better than the other. Both the adequate cheesecake and light ‘sherry’ trifle were served with spray cream. The surprise of the desserts though incredibly was the old favourite and generously sized jelly and ice- cream. We had a wheel chair user in our party which the staff accommodated with great ease despite bar and bistro being busy and just having one bistro table on ground floor, ( we could see the chef cooking the meals from table, which was pretty cool). The rest of the bistro side is on a one step level up mezzanine floor. The bar was bustling and had sports showing on the tv screen but this didn’t impact on the ambiance of the bistro. Bookings are a must and you will not be disappointed with the extensive menu and the charm of the place. We will be back.

Been here for dinner and just for drinks. Both times have been great. Friendly staff, good pints, nice atmosphere. Good to finally have the bar service open! Altogether, a nice cozy pub/restaurant. If you are staying in Midleton (or just passing through) for any given amount of time, I’d say it’s worth stopping in. Pool table too! Note: no food offerings until about 4.

Was my local when I lived here. Food was absolutely 💯 service was great. I hadn't booked a table but they fit me in even for a Friday evening. Always a friendly atmosphere in the Mill Wheel and the bistro is an added bonus. If you're staying in Midleton then definitely worth a visit 😊

A surreal experience. We were a party of four. Goat cheese starter was extremely poor. One main course was served when others had finished. One steak was inedible and pasta dish was much too spicy. Feedback was not well received by staff. Worst meal ever. Previously were regular visitors enjoying amazing food and great service. Oh how things have changed. Regarding Mill Wheel reply, we paid the bill and have receipt as proof. Sad that they refuse to...

Went here yesterday to feed the kids after Leahys farm, very small dinning area not kid friendly at all. Not there fault we didn’t do our homework properly before going in as the kids were so hungry, also very unpleasant staff they were either discriminating against us or truly unhappy with their job. Food was okay salty soup cold fish hot chips and also not aloud order a drink of...
