Joe's Takeaway — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Kilkenny City

We ordered a family takeaway for something different. The delivery time stated 35 mins which seemed fine so we decided to go with her. After 100mins and a starving family, I decided to ring the takeaway. I was met with an awful ignorant man on the phone who didn't seem to care how long I was waiting. He kept saying "food is on the way" like an unsympathetic robot. A dog of a man. The food arrived after 110mins. The poor 2 and a half year old nearly ate the paper bag holding the food as I walked in to find plates. To be honest the paper bag was the most edible and best looking part of the greesy slop. The portion of curry had turned to chunks, there were a lot of chips in the portion but you would be doing well to stomach 3 chips. The burgers were cold and the kebabs looked as if the delivery driver towed them behind his car. Avoid this dump at all costs. If i could give this place no stars i would. €40 on 2 chips, a kebab, battered burger, and nuggets. Not only waiting over an hour and a half but the food was absolutely disgusting. The place deserves to be burnt out of the town. Never in my life I've tasted anything as vile as this and i love my food but this i couldn't even eat. How can the be loads of sauce on a kebab and the meat still be dry and the chips my god, the chips were like eating dirt off the ground. If yous couldn’t even get a bag of chips right id hate to see what the rest of the menu looks like. You country people should be ashamed to even say this is a kilkenny chipper. Typically, my reviews include photos of the food. I didn’t get the chance to do this for the southern fried chicken with salt and vinegar chips that I got from Joe’s takeaway because as soon as I was given the food, I started chipping away at it, no pun intended. The chicken was crisp and flavourful and the salt and vinegar chips (very very generous portions by the way) that I got from them were better than a lot of the ones in Dublin....
