Lorna's Bakes — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Navan

I have to say, this bakery is an absolute joke of a place.I placed an order for a birthday cake for an important Birthday event on Friday August 29th with a. middle aged woman with blonde to grey hair..I gave her all the details and design of cake.She then proceeded to tell me it will be ready for pick up today Friday September 5th.I asked her will I ring during week, and she said No, that Lorna ( the one that bakes the cakes) will get in contact with me during the week by email.As the week went on, I was checking my emails to see if she was in touch and to see What time cake would be ready for collection?? So I. Presumed everything was ok but thought it strange I never even received an email from her(Lorna).So after work today,I went to collect the cake.I was told Lorna would be out in a few minutes.When she eventually came out she said there was no order for cake as she mislaid my email with my cake order.What really annoyed me is that she didn’t care, as she said she is only human?? Well I have never come across such an insolent person as this one(Lorna).I told her this is really bad service .I went around to the bakery on Railway Street ( Traditional Home Bakery ) and I told them my story and they offered to bake a cake for the Birthday and said they will have it tomorrow (Saturday) at 1pm.What lovely staff and great service?? Very disappointed, first made contact enquiring about a cake on the 24th of June for our daughters first birthday. Received a response on June 27th asking if we had an idea of what we were looking for.

We responded on the 27th explaining what we were looking for.

We received no response, so emailed again on July 11th to confirm the order had been received and to confirm a price.

Received a reply on July 12th asking what size we wanted.

We responded on July 12th, stating the exact same size as the picture that was attached, which was from the Lorna Bakes Facebook page.

And we heard nothing since. The had no option but to source the cake elsewhere.

Ordered our wedding cake off Lorna and I was absolutely thrilled with the final result. We went for a 10" single tier lemon drizzle cake and it was delicious. Everybody has complimented it since the wedding.
