We have eaten in Brooklyn in Tramore several times and we always enjoyed it. As it was Friday evening we checked online and it was fully booked so we tried Brooklyn Ardkeen and they had availability so we booked for 3 of us for 6.30 pm it was our first time there.
When we arrived it was busy and there was a large birthday party on one table. The staff were nice and we ordered starters which were fine. However after waiting 45 minutes for our mains one of the staff came to us and apologized for the wait and said the kitchen was very busy due to the birthday party and our food would be along soon and if we had a dessert it would be on the house. However it was another 15 minutes before the mains arrived. It looks like when they did get around to cooking our mains they were rushed to get them out to us so when they did arrive the ravioli and carbonara dishes were fine but the grilled chicken was under cooked and the sauce had the consistency of water. We had also ordered a side order of vegetables which didn't arrive when we asked the staff for it they apologized again and when it did arrived 10 minutes later it was a bowl of just grilled aubergine and some onions. As we were still hungry we did order 3 ice creams for dessert which did add to the time we were in the restaurant but we had arrived at 6.30 by the time we had finished it was after 9pm. We may have caught them on a bad day but I assume they regularly have large groups booking for birthdays etc and it should not impact the rest of the customers experience. The front of house staff were good but It was overall a...
Read moreNormally don't review but this was too poor to ignore. Booked a table for 7pm for 2 people and got there early 6.50 and was no issue. Went downhill from there.. service is extremely slow, 40 mins from finishing starter to getting mains, and the food is not great at all. Burger was delivered stone cold, waitress apologised and said ill get you another, which was actually just the same burger reheated and once again delivered cold. We were given a garlic bread pizza by way of apology which turned out to be the only edible part of the meal, my wife had lasagne which was also cold and flavourless but she's too quiet to complain. We were unable to finish our food it just wasn't good at all, so paid the bill, minus the starters, and left. Beautiful restaurant inside and out but service is bad, food is bad and we won't be returning 😒 Would like to point out we are regulars in Brooklyn Tramore which is streets ahead for food and service.
UPDATE.. One of the owners contacted me today to discuss the review and I thought that was a really nice way to respond to a review. I am more than happy that it may have been an off night and after a very open chat with the owner I feel my feedback has been received in a positive way and I will be happy to eat here again in the future and see if the experience...
Read moreI went to Brooklyn last night with my mam and sister. We didn’t have a booking, and it was clearly busy. The gentleman at the check-in station was so friendly and really tried his best to seat us inside. Unfortunately, there was no space, so we sat outside.
My sister had just been in the hospital, so we explained that we’d only be staying for a quick main course. The gentleman was incredibly kind and welcoming—we all commented on it afterwards.
I ordered the gluten-free fish and chips. Our server, who mentioned it was only his second day, wasn’t sure which meal was gluten-free, but he was very polite and immediately said he would double-check. He was lovely to deal with.
Overall, the service was excellent and we had a great experience. The first gentleman—who we guessed might be a manager—even asked if we’d like our food quickly, which we really appreciated given my sister’s situation.
The food was a 10/10, and the gluten-free options were fantastic. We’d really like to commend the gentleman who originally helped seat us—he made a big difference...
