Bad experience. First time I was there (1 year or more) was a much better impression. Beside the fact that the staff was very hostile upon arrival they told us, that the restaurant is full and we have to wait 1 hour. We accepted and walked around Ben Yehuda. We passed by a couple of times to double check but still we had to wait, even though the restaurant was almost empty as upon arrival. Trying to ignore the suspicion we waited as agreed. Finally we could enter. The table was not "ready"! They tried to squeeze us 13 people with 3 kids and one baby in a stroller into a table for 10! Tables were not aligned and the edges were bothering a lol. When I spoke to the apparently "manager" (red painted hairs) of the restaurant she was just asking me what I wanted to do in a very unpleasant way as if there are no other solutions and if I was just bothering her with my request of simply having a more comfortable table arrangement. I by myself took the initiative and started rearranging the tables according the needed space. The manager left in a very disappointing way the issue to a waitress who was definitely much more polite and helpful. The food was good even though some asked for "well done" steak, which has been served twice medium-rare. Entering the bathrooms with the stunk of a toilet at the central bus station didn't help to improve the all-around impression of a careless management, beside the missing toilet paper, the wet and sticky floor as well as the missing towels or the disconnected hand dryer. Before leaving we wanted to order a dessert. The desire had been instantly killed by a cockroach big like a toe, crawling along the corners near our tables. This led most of the people to just order a coffee!
I hope this criticism will be taken into consideration in order to improve services given by this...
Read moreOur hotel concierge recommended this place for dinner Friday night since most places in Jerusalem are closed on Friday nights. Our reservation was confirmed for 7pm for a large party of 11. We arrived just before 7pm. We checked in and we were told it would just be a few minutes before our table was cleared. Over the next hour and a half... the hostesses told every party with a reservation that it would just be a few minutes even though it was past the time reserved. They also would tell whoever called asking for a table to come over despite the fact that there were numerous parties with reservations waiting to be seated. We were a large party so we agreed to wait 30 minutes... after an hour we said we would just find another restaurant. However, we were told the people are ‘paying their check right now, it should be less than 5 minutes.’ Meanwhile, everyone in our party is understandably getting hungry and restless. We speak to the manager and he ensures us the table is almost ready. 10 more minutes pass, at this point we’ve been waiting almost an hour an a half. Numerous large parties have been seated ahead of us despite our earlier reservation. The manager says that he saved a certain table for us and can’t combine other table hence he has seated the other parties. Clearly, this place is poorly managed. The table was still occupied an hour and a half after our reservation. At that point, We agreed to split up but the manager wouldn’t seat us. After waiting over 1.5 hours we left to another restaurant. This place is lying to their patrons in order to keep their...
Read moreRestaurant was unbelievably crowded. Music was so loud people had to shout to be heard. Lights were so dim people were using phone lights to see their menus. Service was abysmal--our waiter took no care in our service. We ordered Focaccia which was delicious, but then the waiter vanished for about 40 minutes before we could order something else. We then ordered a dish, waited 20 minutes for it, and when it came it was the wrong item. We asked for the correct dish, and our waiter then forgot for another 45 minutes. Finally we waved him down and asked if our food was still coming. He clearly went and then placed the order he had forgotten about. While we waited, random people milled around our table, sometimes 7-10 people at a time, bumping us and yelling. A waiter dropped a stack of glass cups in front of us and shattered glass littered our feet and struck our legs. Finally, when our simple appetizer did arrive, it had no sauce at all. We had no water, no utensils, and had to split one single napkin. Absolutely ruined our evening. Obviously, he received no tip and we will...
