We went here for New Years 2022, and had the hands down worst restaurant experience of my life. It took 30 minutes for anyone to speak to us after we sat down. We ordered shots and cocktails. 40 minutes later I still didn’t have a drink. I told the waitress and she literally rolled her eyes at me. 1 hour after we ordered 5 of 6 of us at the table had drinks and I was still waiting for mine. The shots never came.
We finally ordered dinner an hour after being seated. About an hour later, after midnight, they came back told us there had been a kitchen fire so they couldn’t serve us any food. I understand unexpected events happen, but the kitchen fire occurred an hour before they took our order so they clearly knew this before they took our. Also the kitchen should and should have no impact on the bar times, or attitude of the staff.
At the end of the night they charged us for everything, including the food items we never received, and they were supremely rude when we asked them to take these items off.
I have called the restaurant 3 times since then and been told a manager would call me back, but they have yet to do so over a week later. I would expect a refund, not an overcharge, after such a dreadful experience.
I will never return to a place who treats their customers with such a complete lack of respect, and would encourage anyone reading this review to skip this and go anywhere...
Read moreAbsolutely excellent restaurant. I went in thinking the atmosphere is the selling point of the place, but the food blew me away!
The serving sizes are a bit small, but you could tell that every dish I had was prepared with so much thought and care. The ribs was definitely my favourite, the mix of flavours was excellent. It had a slightly smoky, rich taste. The sauces alongside it enriched it even more. The zucchini from the stone oven was also a hit. Good tang from the Turkish goat cheese and a lovely charred and smoky taste from the zucchini. I think I would have liked if they did more with the zucchini rather than cook them whole, but it was still delicious. The only dish I personally didn’t care for much was the cauliflower. It seemed under cooked and just lazily placed on top of a curry sauce. The starter tomato salad we had was also delicious; excellently seasoned and not too acidic.
This was the best meal I had in Tel Aviv. It felt like a light meal yet I was satiated.
My one criticism: the host wasn’t very friendly. Made us feel distant and unwelcome when we told her we didn’t have a reservation. The server was excellent though, we had the...
Read moreWe made a reservation and when we arrived (my husband, 1 year old and myself) this friday, the hostess seated us at the worst table in the entire restaurant. It was a tiny round table right by the entrance and walk way. We also had a stroller/pram and there was no way we were going to fit the pram there, let alone a baby chair (which we had to ask for and was not offered to us). We then asked if we could be moved to another table since there were plenty of open tables. I am Asian so I felt discriminated against after I saw that the hostess gave that same table to an Asian couple when there were other tables open.
The dishes appear quite simple on the menu, but they are very well made, sauces are delicious, and everything tastes fresh. The only issue is that they had forgotten one of our dishes, so after my husband was done with his dish, I was still waiting for mine. They did offer a complimentary dish for us to eat. And they did not offer us water for the table. We had to ask for it.
Overall, the food is good, but the portions are a bit on the smaller side. Service was not great but the vibe was very chill, loved the plants,...
