The low ranking is not for the taste. The fries are good. Very good. But when I order a large portion of Fish&fries, and what I get are 3 not that big pieces of fried fish and the HUGE enormous box is packed with fries (in a way the dish is Fries&LittleFish), that is where I get disappointed, and that is where the low ranking coming from. First, the serving of the fries was not like in the pictures and absolutely not as in Amsterdam- we got ours in a cardboard box instead of a paper cone.
Second, no fresh onion!
The service was pretty bad and inefficient. It took way too long to get our fries.
The cheese sauce wasn't warm enough and had a weird aftertaste.
