Tried this place out after reading great reviews. My conclusion is that it is highly overrated and not justified at all on any level - food, service, cleanliness. From the moment we arrived everything was so disorganized. We had to literally get up over 8 times to call someone to the table to get service, they barely came to our section. Mistakes were made with our orders and with the bill and calling them back was such a headache each time. Coffee which was ordered with the food came after an hour and 3 reminders. The bathroom was disgusting with the floor wet and paper towels thrown all over the floor. The food was quite lame - the israeli breakfast which at any cafe would come with an assortment of salads/dips/cheeses/fish and more, came with 3 small bowls - a few small slices of yellow cheese, cream cheese and some jam. Nothing special and definitely not worth the price. Same goes for the french toast, small portion containing two square pieces of bread and really nothing special, for 70 shekels it's so overpriced for what you get. I requested part of my meal to be packed up to take home and later saw that half of it was thrown away. Very disappointing experience overall. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because their almond croissant was great and you could tell the waitresses were really trying but it was so packed and understaffed for that capacity that it was a complete mess. Save yourself the aggravation - if you insist on trying them out, stick to their pastries and...
Read moreRun away!! They're thieves! I went to eat there because their restaurant is listed on Ten Bis. When I tried to pay with Ten Bis, they refused, even though Ten Bis customer service confirmed they work with this restaurant, which should have accepted the card. The waitress became rude and impolite and even put her payment terminal under my phone, making me pay with Google Pay using a virtual card that's on my phone but belongs to my husband. When I told her it wasn't my card and I didn't want to pay with it, she laughed and said, "Too late, the payment went through." I said I wouldn't come back, and she and her manager said, "We don't care, we have tons of customers outside."Aside from this, which is unacceptable and for which I can file a theft complaint, she gave us an extremely poor welcome and service. This happened on Friday, November 14th. She had a Russian accent and the manager was wearing a black apron. I expect an explanation and an apology because I can file a complaint and I am still shocked by...
Read moreThis Cafe offers European desserts that are a cut above the good cafes of Tel Aviv. All their pastries and cakes are made in-house from scratch on a daily basis so one is always assured to get same-day desserts.
The service is truly excellent. The owner is acting as the "host" and he provides great service and genuine care for the customers. I have been there twice more during the last 2 weeks since my initial review and yhe quality and service eere as good as the initial visit. I am enclosing their menu since they also offer great meals.
They have a small dining room and a good size patio with a retractable roof. The cafe retained the old decor and has an appealing 1940's-1950's feel to it (Patsy Klein, Lois Armstrong etc). The background music is also great and low enough not to overpower conversation.
A single stall washroom is off the dining room on...
